Hi, I’m Carlo, a NetSuite Developer, and these are my favorite Google Chrome extensions for developing NetSuite solutions.

For context, I use Google Chrome as part of all my workflows — both personal and professional — because it allows me to seamlessly utilize the same browser across all my devices, including my personal phone, tablet, and work and personal laptops. Chrome gives me quick access to all my bookmarked links, Google Password Manager, Google tools (Docs, Sheets, etc.), saved data, and much more.

After years of developing NetSuite solutions, I’ve curated a list of Google Chrome extensions that have immensely improved my efficiency:

1. Authenticator

I use the Authenticator extension for two-factor authentication (2FA). Beyond NetSuite, most of the tools I use also require 2FA, so this extension allows me to quickly and securely access everything I need.

Check it here.

2. NetSuite Advanced Field Help

This extension enhances the Field-Level Help pop-up window in NetSuite. In addition to showing the field ID, it displays the field’s value, available selection options for List/Record fields, links to Custom Lists used, and more.

Check it here.

3. NetSuite Field Explorer

One of my favorites! This extension allows you to examine the data of a NetSuite record. It displays the header and line fields of the record you’re accessing, making it easy to get the IDs and values you might use in your solution’s logic.

Check it here.

4. NetSuite Field Finder

This extension improves NetSuite’s standard search functionality when selecting options for List/Record fields in Saved Searches and Workflows. It enables you to easily search for standard or custom fields using the Field ID, Name, or Type, and navigate join fields effortlessly.

Check it here.

5. NetSuite: HTML Script Notes

This extension is particularly useful for debugging SuiteScripts. On the Execution Logs of the Script Deployment page, it beautifies JSON objects by adding HTML elements, making it easier to review the data in your JSON objects.

Check it here.

6. NetSuite: Saved Search and Dataset Export

Another favorite of mine! Creating Saved Searches on the fly can be tedious, especially when they include a lot of filters and columns. With this extension, you can create your Saved Search using the UI and then export it as SuiteScript code, speeding up development significantly.

Check it here.

Final Thoughts

A couple of the extensions I’ve used in the past are now unsupported by Google Chrome, but they were incredibly helpful back then. The extensions listed above have become integral to my workflows when developing NetSuite solutions. I hope this list helps you in your own development journey. Happy coding!
