The Trillion Dollar Problem

Unlike most of my articles this one is not about software development, but about Elon Musk and what it means as he has become the first trillionaire (officially)

If you have not seen extreme poverty in a third world country, I suggest you do some research on it. I grew up in Peru and saw it on the street in a daily basis… it turns your stomach, and yet we disassociate from it and ignore it. Living in the US has changed my view on so many things, but I see the creeping shadow of extreme poverty enveloping our nation slowly through our wall st and our politicians in a bipartisan effort.

Currently we have a growing disparity between classes, and it is monumental. The difference between a millionaire, a billionaire, and a trillionaire is extremely hard to conceptualize. Developed western nations like the US, Canada, and the UK are being hollowed out by a few transnationals and it is an existential threat. We have moved from capitalism to techno-feudalism moving to a similar system to what it was back in the middle ages.

I follow Gary Economics' and that channel has greatly influenced my view on how the west currently operates. The gist of it is the following message:

- TAX WEALTH NOT LABOR

The wealthy are scared of this, and are fighting it

Gary does a great job at explaining why we need to do this, and we need to push and advocate for it. If we don’t our children and their children will live in poverty.
