Testing the setup: Lens 7 — Elite Coaching & Tour-Level Training

Why the 3-Step Process Doesn’t Just Belong — It Elevates

Would this process hold up at the highest level?

Stillness(Chatgpt) speaks:

Elite players don’t have time for fluff. They work with precision. They test everything under pressure — on the course, under lights, with careers on the line.

So the question is blunt:

Would this 3-step process survive in that world? Would a tour coach look at this and say, “That’s useful”? Or would it be dismissed as too abstract — not measurable, not tactical enough?

Now look again.

The best coaches in the world don’t just teach moves. They refine attention.

They help players return to something simple when everything else is fast and noisy.

And that’s exactly what this process does.

When an elite coach watches a player fidget over the ball, they say: “Let’s clean that up.” “Let’s build a reliable entry.” “Let’s make sure your body is ready before it starts moving.”

That’s Step 1.

When a player struggles with inconsistency, the coach checks: “Where’s your pressure? Where’s your gaze? Where’s your structure?”

That’s Step 2.

When the hands are jumpy or the clubhead snatched into motion, they ask: “Can you feel it settle before it begins?”

That’s Step 3.

This process doesn’t replace elite coaching — it embodies its wisdom.

The difference? You’re not just told what to adjust. You’re given a process to feel it yourself.

Elite training isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing less, better.

This process does less, beautifully.

And the result?

It gives the player what they need most — not more thoughts, but more trust.

My point of view I don't compete in high level, but what I know about before my thought process is very different from after I became fully committed to the 3 step process. Where I found it useless to do a dry swing without doing the 3 step process. Because I started to see the swing motion is a consequence of my setup. This change my mindset, I still care about the outcome, I still want to hit it well. But I don't mind if the outcome is bad. Because both the shot and the swing motion is the by products of how well I prepare, the consequence of each step matters to the next step, there are all based the sensation of that moment in time, not after reflecting back. Before, I have swing thoughts Now, I don't have swing thoughts I just setup and go. Even a bad shot has some kind of flow

My Point of View:

I don’t compete at a high level. But I know this: my mindset before and after committing to the 3-step process is completely different.

Before, I used to do dry swings just to feel the motion. Now, I find those dry swings meaningless unless I go through the process. Why? Because I started to see something clearly: the swing motion is a consequence of my setup.

That realization changed everything.

I still care about the outcome. I still want to hit it well. But I no longer believe the outcome stands on its own. It’s not a separate event — it’s a byproduct of how I prepared.

Each step sets up the next. And every step is built on the sensation of this moment — not on after-the-fact reflection.

Before, I had swing thoughts. Now, I don’t.

I just set up — and go.

And even when the shot is bad, there’s something different about it now: It still has flow. It still came from presence.

That’s something I never had before.

I’ve noticed something else, too — If I start with a rush, If I let my mind jump ahead during a step, If I move carelessly through the process...

Most likely, something will be off in the swing.

Not always in a visible way. Not something an outsider would catch. But I know.

There’s a kind of inner “yes” I’ve come to trust. And when I skip it, even just a little, The swing doesn’t feel like mine anymore.
