Whatever her situation, remember that Esther/Esti probably is carrying that on top of whatever else is going through her mind. “Everyone is SO worried” is probably not the best approach, if you find her. Be empathetic, be chill. Give her space but try to establish a connection — especially if she is with other people. Anyone who has her best interests at heart would, by this point, have come forward.

What we do not actually know (despite online speculation)

• There is no verified indication in public reporting of motive (runaway, abduction, etc.). Those categories are still open in most early missing-person cases unless police specify otherwise.
• Shoes — there’s lots of focus on whether she was/wasn’t wearing shoes, based on police response. There is nothing credible and this should not be a focus of search or conversation
• Phone — she might have one on her, she might not. It might have been found independently; it might not have. This is pure speculation at this point, so don’t focus on it.

What can be reasonably inferred (carefully)

• The fact that her parents are making a public appeal suggests ongoing concern and lack of confirmed contact.
• The police are using drones, mounted units, volunteers, local canvassing and focusing in/around the area of Earl Bales Park. While it is speculation as to where she at the moment, the level of scrutiny around the park itself suggests there’s no specific reason to suspect she is anywhere else.
• BY THE SAME TOKEN — it’s been nearly a week. You can get around the world and back in that time.
• Early-stage missing teen cases often involve a wide range of possibilities, including miscommunication, voluntary absence, vulnerability, or third-party involvement; these all remain options until they are ruled out by official sources. And ONLY official sources.
• In situations like this, information tends to spiral quickly online, like an amplified telephone game, which can distort search priorities. AI makes this worse. Don’t assume; verify. If it can’t be verified, it remains speculation.

What should be dismissed out of hand

• Anything you have heard that hasn’t been made public by official authorities. The rumour mill is rampant, but it’s not fact.
