extra IVIG may not provide benefits, but harms

This study shows that Guillan-Barre syndrome patients received extra IVIG did not have better recovery. They had more adverse events than placebo group.

Clinical impact:

Should not give second dose of IVIG to GBS patients under most circumstances. Treatment related fluctuation would be an exception.
