Sip from the Diet Mountain Dew

My mom said, “Back in my day, we sang about love, not fizzy drinks.” I guess most of you won't agree on that, right? Or do u? Let's see then,

Have you ever drunk Mountain Dew? If not, I'm a Diet Coca-Cola. Oh God, they are not nearly at the taste of the original mountian dew or Coke, right fellows. But why? Why do people buy them? Cause on the paper they look good, they don't have so-called sugar but they all have many more toxic ingredients. I think now u got it.

This song is about that kind of relationship.

“You’re no good for me, but baby, I want you.”

This is generally about being attracted to someone who is bad for you, knowing the relationship is unhealthy, but wanting it anyway.

Then what kind of love is this? It also isn’t clearly love at first sight. There is not just a single moment of falling in love. May be its just me how I feel.

I know you’re bad for me, but I still want you.

This is usually a sign of desire overriding judgment; this is the same feeling that keeps us scrolling one more reel, checking one more message, or chasing something we know won’t bring us peace, drinking Diet Mountain Dew. Brain left your body cause heart is craving for something calm.

Maybe this was never love at all.

Desire, desire to be loved, Obsession, obsession of never to leave, Attraction, so powerful that it disguised itself as love.

She knew he was a beautiful mistake, a fire she could never hold; but some stars burn too bright to touch, and still they reach through the cold.

So if this wasn’t love, then what was it?

The hunger of a heart chasing a dream, the ache of wanting what it cannot keep, the sweetness of a poison on the tongue a song between longing and sleep.

So here’s to the beautiful mistakes we call love, and the cravings we mistake for destiny.
