TWICE: Nayeon Becomes First K-Pop Soloist With A Billboard Top 10 Album

According to the publication, “IM NAYEON” also consolidates itself as the best-selling album of the week.

History! Taking the first steps of her solo career, TWICE’s Nayeon has achieved an unprecedented feat on the North American charts. It’s just that, this Monday (4), the singer scored the mini-album “IM NAYEON” in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200, becoming the first K-Pop soloist with the feat.

Corroborating previous speculations, the artist occupied no less than the seventh position on the most important albums chart in the industry. According to this week’s update from Billboard, it was 57,000 equivalent units, with 52,000 in album sales. With this, “IM NAYEON” is also consolidated as the best-selling album of the week.

As the girls of TWICE prepare to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the group’s debut in the Japanese market, with an album to be released in July, Nayeon took advantage of this period to make her solo debut and released her first mini-album and music video for the song “POP !”.

The South Korean singer released her mini-album “IM NAYEON” last Friday (24th), which comes with a total of 7 tracks, including the first single, “POP!”, and the song “CANDYFLOSS”, a co-composition by Little Mix‘s Jade Thirlwall. Nayeon ‘s first solo project still comes with partnerships with Stray Kids ‘ Felix and Wonstein.
