When Consumers Stop Trusting Brands
Trust does not disappear loudly. It fades quietly.
A customer notices prices changing without explanation. A user feels watched rather than helped. A bank replaces people with chatbots that never solve real problems.
At first, people stay. Then they hesitate. Then they leave.
Companies often chase efficiency without realising that trust is fragile. AI can personalise ads and optimise prices, but it can also make customers feel manipulated.
Once trust is lost, it does not return easily. Discounts do not fix it. Marketing does not fix it. Only time and honesty do.
The irony is that trust is one of the most valuable assets a company has,s but it never appears on financial statements.
By the time it is gone, the damage is already done.
