‘IT IS FINISHED’ said Jesus on the cross,in a feeble faint voice that is contrary to the sense of accomplishment that exudes when one finishes a task assigned.Only beacuse it wasn’t a task, a job or some mundane routine. It is a mission that a human can hardly fathom . But if he tried to comprehend, it will choke him and move him to tears like it did to me

The ‘endeavour’ of embarking on this journey with Jesus is worthy because it is inextricably linked with bringing you closer to your creator. Creator brings me to the beginning of this journey.It is misconstrued that it begins with the trial of Jesus and culminates on the cross.Seldom do we fathom that the true beginning is when He perceives that the earth was without form and he prepares it to be habitable for the human kind.

Like in any mission it is not the beginning and the finishing , but the journey that stands out , more so in successful expeditions. Expeditions although often are linked to journeys in space, it is but a mission with a defintive objective.

I’ve had the serendipity by the grace of God to witness the original endeavour space shuttle in the california space center in Los Angles.It is the closest analogy of successful human mission that overcame formidable challenges and accomplished its objective of constructing the International Space Station(ISS) which stands to this day in space. It can be overwhelming to comprehend the journey from building the shuttle without any help of scaffolding and then testing through simulations and finally deploying it into space..

To envision the intricacies of different depratments and diverse manual labour coming together to accomplish the objective that has varied complexities is mind boggling.Anybody who’s worked on mission critical projects would immediately sense the complexity and the number of things that could go wrong which could lead to a catastrophy.I was able to gather more information than i could assmilate watching those exhibits and it felt like a never ending process as one step lead to another incrementally to accomplish what you see below.A giant space shuttle.

I shared that anecdote because it helped me fathom the scale at which mission is established. But once the mission is set into motion there are tremendous challenges that needs to be surpassed before the team can say “It is finished”. It is a sigh of relief at that moment, more than an exultation. It is that very sigh that Jesus breathed when he mentioned that it is finished. It’s because he has been preparing from eternity to save you, your soul amidst the ginormous challenges that threaten to derail His mission of keeping your soul safe with him for eternity.

Endeavouring on earth for thirty odd year for Jesus was pivotal,infact inexorable for his mission of redeeming souls that are hell bound.It is like rescuing a satellite that is displaced from its original orbit and is pushed into a different trajectory or is left stranded in space.

Creator witnessed all his creation from Adam to Abraham ,from Abraham to David ,David to Zedekiah and Zedekiah to Zerrubbabel close to forty two generations missing their orbit and digressing into sin. His endeavour continued nevertheless through the generations but all fell short off his glory as in Romans 3:23.Such was the scale of his rescue mission.

From our patriarchs to the present day and from small to old, the biggest work of the enemy contrary to His mission is to distract and drag you out from the glory of God through sin.We witness Adam was no where to be found when he sinned as seen in Genesis 3:9.Thats why Creator refers to the enemy as subtill beast ,because it is devious,deceptive and deviant in it’s ways of digressing even children’s attention from their creator these days with devices..

The endeavour of Christ is singularly spectacular beacuse he surpassed the frontier of death which none of the patriarchs could.But before getting to the final frontier, there were several daunting impediments that lay ahead of him.The way he dismissed them with disdain has galvanized me to document this write up.

You hear Christ saying, ‘Get thee behind Satan for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men”. He has dismmised the enemy before when it tempted Him after the fast.Through this sharp rebuke he essentially showed Satan his place and inadvertently advised us to do the same when the enemy is clobbering our mind with things that do not pertain to God.

The reason this is extremely significant and potent is because the enemy always wants to fill our minds with filth and seize our beautiful mind and make it dwell on distasteful and disastrous things which causes our progress to cease.When you find yourself the next time dwelling on things other than the things of God, please call out the enemy like Jesus called it out and show it his place which is behind and let it not get ahead of you and lead you. Your Leader is your Creator and none else

Like a space shuttle set into motion on mission , the Creator released his ONLY begotten son(John 3:16) so your life can be repaired and restored. For that very purpose, he made himself of no reputation(Phil 2:7) in the likeness of man, a little lower than angels(Hebrew 2:9) to deliver man from the life time (Hebrew 2:15) bondage of the final frontier of death.

When he said “It is finished”, did you know that it just started.The start of complete destruction of the devil as depicted in Hebrew 2:14 saying ‘That through death, he might destroy him that had power of death,that is the devil’.

Essentially through death he found access to the domain of devil to destroy it once and for all. So in software terms death was his access token to get into the vicinity of devil and crush it’s cranium forever.It was the final nail on the Devil’s Coffin . He had no power over death anymore.

Scripture divulges that he FIRST descened into the lower parts of the earth(Ep4:9–10) before he ascended far up above the heavens. Till then keys of hell were with Devil and he figured that through death he was destroying Jesus instead it was him who was discomfited and Jesus grabbed the keys from off him in triumph.

‘IAM HE THAT LIVETH and was dead. And behold IAM ALIVE FOREVERMORE amen; and HAVE THE KEYS OF HELL AN DEATH- Rev 1:18’ —Objective achieved.Mission Accomplished after His Endeavours on Earth & Finishing Him OFF on the cross.AMEN.

Happy Easter friends.Your King has shown the way. so break free from every bondage by emulating His endeavours and finishing him off
