The Moment I Laughed Out Loud

A Writing Challenge

I’m not sure where to begin or what to say. By nature and mood, I always enjoy spending time in my own company.

Realizing how some precious moments have made me laugh fills me with nostalgia and reminds me of the joy in life.

I used to live in an apartment in Faridabad, but I have been living in West Bengal for the past two years.

I miss those moments that made me so happy and nostalgic—they are truly memorable. These experiences were especially meaningful because of the different people involved, each with their own status, mood, and nature.

What I remember most is when I was in class 2 and my teacher took all of us to see a cartoon-based animated movie. It was a fun film for all the kids at that time, and I remember laughing out loud and thoroughly enjoying the experience.

Another moment I still remember is enjoying an evening walk inside the complex. Many ladies were gathered and chatting with each other, children were happily playing, and some men were also engaged in conversation, just like the ladies.

During one of my evening walks, a funny moment occurred when a monkey suddenly appeared. Everyone started running in different directions, hurrying home. The monkey’s unexpected visit made us all laugh.

From childhood until now, I have always enjoyed my own company, but I find the most happiness spending time with my parents. I cherish laughing and sharing positive moments with them in different ways—some with my mother and others with my father, depending on the situation.

One unforgettable moment I still remember is when one of my classmates in my BA program made a funny typo, and another classmate made a similar amusing mistake during my MA. These moments still make me laugh.

I look forward to enjoying fun and laughter with my cousins and my spouse after marriage. These are the happy moments and places where I know I will always find joy and laughter.

Thank you, Smriti Pathak and Supriya, for this amazing writing challenge.
