If they can’t say it — will the truth go away?

Israeli Supreme Court says Those who Say Israel is an Apartheid state can be denied entry.

There is a pattern that has become pervasive in Israeli Society. We have observed it play out for so many years. It is a pattern of denial. We see it across the military, the government, and Zionists both in and out of government.

After decades upon decades of Apartheid by Israel over the Palestinians, the existence of Apartheid is vehemently denied. Netanyahu denies it has ever been the case; all the while the world watches it carried out daily. Palestinians have no autonomy and that has been so since Israeli was born in 1948. Even before this, Zionists were violently repressing them, killing them, and trying to force them to leave the region. Today, even under the so called “Trump peace plan”, Palestinian, especially in the West Bank are being daily targeted, bullied out of their homes, their crops destroyed and buildings bulldozed or burnt to the ground. This because the government has encouraged them to take the land over so that new Israeli settlements can be built, in violation of international law. In other words, Zionists are encouraged and funded by the state to violently steal property from occupied land of Palestinians that has been in in their family for generations.

In spit of who widespread the knowledge of what is happening is, the high court has agreed that the government can prohibit anyone who has spoken of the Apartheid from entering Israel.

Netanyahu has not only denied apartheid, but he denies genocide as well. That’s why I see the Israelis as the great deniers.

SAY IT OFTEN

The more times you deny apartheid and genocide the more time your brain has to affirm that message until it seems quite natural to deny it ever happened. But that is self-serving. It is a lie that the world clearly sees through.

Denial furthers the collective societal cancer that refuses to accept accountability. It’s clear why one does this, but it nonetheless is especially damaging to humanity to deny and thus marginalize the very victims themselves.

A horrible fact is that to turn one’s head to a genocide nearly as morally repugnant as it is to carry out genocide in the first place. By doing so, you become complicit. Whenever genocide occurs, it must be called out. That is exercising power over the indignity itself.

Netanyahu wants the world to believe Israel is innocent. That it has the most moral military in the world. That very military, the IDF or some prefer IOF — the D for defense and the O for occupation, has by it’s own data, determined that of those killed in Gaza, a whopping 83% were civilians. The magnitude of the Israeli affront on the Palestinian people is a historical record that will live as a shared legacy between Netanyahu and Israel itself. It is not one that can be denied. It cannot be wished away, though many good Jews wish it could be. The international community mush see that justice is done at The Hague. Until then, Israel will continue to be boycott by many nations, will continue to have diplomatic ties broken, will continue to see their travel restricted, and see divesture of funds from Israeli companies. It will continue to be seen as a blight on humanity, no matter how many times they deny it, or make ignorant rules to pretend it is not so.

On another level, Israelis like to say the Israel is the only Democratic state in the middle east. There are many that are pointing out the growing ways that it’s government has cracked down on speech and and political dissent.
