How Slot Size Affects Coal Centrifuge Basket Performance
Slot size is one of the most important specifications in a coal centrifuge basket. During mechanical dewatering, the basket must allow water to pass through efficiently while retaining the required coal particles.
A poorly selected slot opening can affect moisture removal, fine-particle retention, and overall centrifuge performance.
The Role of Slot Opening
Inside a coal dewatering centrifuge, wet coal is forced against the rotating screen basket by centrifugal force. Water passes through the screen openings, while coal particles remain inside the basket and move toward the discharge area.
