THE KINGDOM BUILT ON WEATHER.

By Erick Mukiira

I have seen kingdoms collapse not because enemies invaded the gates, but because the king mistook affection for architecture.

He built his throne from soft things: warm lips, wedding photographs, perfumed promises whispered into midnight pillows, the temporary music of forever.

And when the weather changed; when spring removed her green dress and winter arrived carrying divorce papers, cold lawyers, unfamiliar signatures, children divided by calendars, houses sold like defeated cattle; he discovered too late that roses are beautiful but make terrible bricks.

I have watched men: powerful men, wealthy men, famous men, reduced to haunted silhouettes.

Tiger Woods watched billions fracture alongside public scandal.

Jeff Bezos saw one of the most expensive divorces in modern history rewrite his financial map.

Johnny Depp endured public courtroom storms where private love became global spectacle.

Robin Williams spoke openly about financial strain after divorce before his death.

Kanye West turned heartbreak into public unraveling.

Even King Solomon; the man who spoke to trees, understood gold, and commanded nations — was weakened by divided devotion.

History is full of men who mistook companionship for permanence.

And when the earthquake came, they broke like clay jars dropped on temple stairs.

Some drowned themselves in nightclubs where lights blink like artificial stars.

Some married alcohol.

Some dated distraction.

Some fed their pain to strangers who knew their body but never their soul.

Some smiled in public while privately becoming abandoned cities.

And what remains of a man who builds his identity on another human being whose own heart is also made of weather?

Listen carefully:

A woman is not your downfall. Love is not your enemy. Marriage is not a curse.

But blind dependence is a silent assassin.

Do not hand one human being the keys to your purpose.

Do not build your empire where emotions flood without warning.

Do not make your entire masculinity dependent on being chosen.

Even ancient men understood covenant.

Before Abraham walked into legacy, there was agreement. There were terms. There was clarity with God.

Build like that.

Let your business have agreements. Let your friendships have boundaries. Let your marriage have clarity. Let your wealth have protection. Let your future have witnesses.

Love deeply, but build wisely.

Be like Joseph storing grain while seven years of abundance still dance in the streets. For famine has no respect for weddings.

Be like the ant carrying tomorrow on its back while summer laughs loudly.

Because every man will meet at least one season where life strips him naked.

A season where the phone stops ringing. Where the children live elsewhere. Where your bed becomes an interrogation room. Where your savings evaporate. Where your own reflection avoids eye contact.

That season feels like standing inside a cathedral while stained glass collapses on your skin. It feels like watching wolves inherit your garden.

It feels like carrying an ocean in your lungs.

It feels like becoming dust while still breathing.

But hear this:

Winter is not your identity.

Rock bottom is not your surname. And ashes are often proof that something survived the fire. A man must be built like ancient stone; able to survive both applause and abandonment.

Let your purpose outlive romance. Let your discipline outlive heartbreak. Let your faith outlive betrayal. Let your name outlive temporary storms.

For dawn has never failed to arrive after dusk signs its dark signature across the sky.

And if love comes; welcome it with wisdom.

But never again build your kingdom on weather.
