I was recently able to find and get my hands on the 2019–2020 LEGO Hidden Side theme Newbury Haunted High School (#70425), the perfect set for all LEGO enthusiasts and fans of spooky themes. With 1,474 pieces and measures over 15 inches high, 12 inches wide, and 5 inches deep, making it perfect for display in any room. The Hidden Side theme has to be one of my favorites in terms of overall fun and creative storytelling.

The Newbury Haunted High School is not just a pretty face either, it packs a punch in terms of features. The set comes with a working elevator, a laboratory with a cauldron that actually bubbles, and a bedroom, complete with a skeleton in the bed.

The building experience was a joy, with detailed instructions and a good balance of challenge and enjoyment. I’d recommend having some building experience before taking on this set. Once completed, the Newbury Haunted High School is not only a “treat” for the eyes, but also a delight to play with. The working elevator and laboratory are particularly fun to play with. The set also includes minifigures such as ghosts, zombies, and a mad scientist, which adds to the playability. My favorite part is the ghost dog “Spencer”

I was able to find the set used like new for 125 USD which is on the higher side, but the number of pieces, level of detail, and playability of the set makes it worth the cost for me. While there aren’t many similar sets available at a better price, this set stands out with its unique and spooky theme.

Overall, the LEGO Newbury Haunted High School (#70425) is a must-have for all LEGO enthusiasts and fans of spooky themes. The building process is enjoyable, the finished product is fun to play with, and looks great on display. The price tag may be a bit steep, but the value for money is undeniable. So, pack your bags and get ready to take a trip to the most haunted high school around.
