The Bihar Public Service Commission has released the official notification for the Integrated 72nd CCE, inviting applications for various prestigious administrative and executive positions within the Bihar State Government. Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification
- General CCE Posts: Graduation or equivalent degree from a recognized university.
- CDPO: Graduation + Optional subject choice (Home Science, Psychology, Sociology, or LSW).
- Financial Administrative Officer: Graduation in Commerce, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Sub-Divisional Protection Officer: Graduation in Psychology or Law.
2. Age Limit (as of August 1, 2026)
- Minimum Age: 20, 21, or 22 years (depending on the post).

- Unreserved (Male): 37 Years
- Unreserved (Female) / BC / EBC: 40 Years
- SC / ST: 42 Years
Examination Structure
The selection process consists of three distinct phases:
Phase I: Preliminary Examination (Qualifying)
- Nature: Objective (MCQs), 150 Marks.
- Duration: 2 Hours.
- Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark deduction for every wrong answer.
- Special Rule: Each question has 5 options (A, B, C, D, E). If a candidate does not wish to answer, they must select option (E) to avoid the negative marking associated with “unanswered” questions.
Phase II: Mains (Written) Examination
The Mains exam is descriptive and includes:
- General Hindi (100 Marks): Qualifying only (30% required).
- General Studies Paper 1 (300 Marks): Counted for merit.
- General Studies Paper 2 (300 Marks): Counted for merit.
- Essay (300 Marks): Counted for merit.
- Optional Subject: For the 72nd CCE, this is a 100-mark MCQ-based qualifying paper. However, for specialized posts (CDPO/FAO), the optional subject remains a 300-mark descriptive paper that counts toward the final merit.
Phase III: Personality Test (Interview)
- Marks: 120 Marks.
- Requirement: Participation is mandatory to be considered for the final merit list.
Application Fees
- Standard Fee: Rs. 100 per exam/post category.
- Biometric Fee: Candidates who do not provide an Aadhaar Number in the application must pay an additional Rs. 200 as a biometric fee.
Important Instructions for Candidates
- One-Time Registration (OTR): All candidates must complete the OTR on the BPSC Online Portal.
- Digital Integration: The portal is linked with DigiLocker. Candidates are encouraged to fetch their documents directly through the “Meri Pehchan” portal.
- Photo Capture: Applications require a live photo capture via webcam with a white/light-colored background.
- Reservation: Benefits are only applicable to permanent residents of Bihar. Candidates from other states will be treated under the Unreserved (UR) category.
