The Runes Protocol

⁉ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐥 is a new way to create tokens on the Bitcoin network. Some of its characteristics:

👉 Introduces a UTXO (Unspent Transaction Output) -based tokenization model to the Bitcoin network. 👉 𝐃𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟𝐟-𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐭𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐧. It works by adding a special feature to Bitcoin transactions 🏧 that allows for the easy handling and tracking of tokens. 👉 Developed by Casey Rodarmor, also known for creating the Ordinals protocol, Runes aims to improve Bitcoin’s capabilities and address challenges in tokenization protocols.

📅 The protocol is set to launch in late April, coinciding with the 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠. There are a couple of ways to get involved:

1. 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐭 ⚒️ one of the first ten tokens directly or
2. 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝 👛 NFTs or certificates from pre-mining projects.

These projects will airdrop tokens to their holders once they deploy their tokens on Runes.

🎉 The launch of Runes is a significant event for the Bitcoin ecosystem, and it is expected to have a major impact on the way tokens are created and used on Bitcoin.
