The Jharkhand Academic Council has officially released the JHTET 2026 notification on March 30, 2026.

Applications open April 21 and close May 21. That’s your window. Thirty days.

What is JHTET and why does it matter?

JHTET — Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test — is the mandatory qualification exam for anyone who wants to teach in a government school in Jharkhand at the Primary (Class 1–5) or Junior (Class 6–8) level.

You cannot be appointed as a government school teacher in Jharkhand without clearing it. Full stop.

And with Jharkhand’s ongoing push to fill teaching vacancies across districts — JHTET qualified candidates are in genuine demand.

Who can apply?

For Primary Level (Paper 1): Minimum 10+2 with 50% marks and a 2-year D.El.Ed. Candidates in their final year of D.El.Ed are also eligible right now.

For Junior Level (Paper 2): Graduation with B.Ed or D.El.Ed. Final year B.Ed students can apply too.

Want to be eligible for both levels? Appear for both papers. Fee is just ₹1500 for General candidates for both combined — worth every rupee for double the opportunity.

Fees — straightforward

General/EWS candidates pay ₹1300 for a single paper and ₹1500 for both. SC/ST candidates pay ₹700 for one and ₹800 for both. Payment modes include online banking, debit/credit card and offline options.

How to apply — when the window opens April 21

Visit jacexamportal.in, register with your basic details, fill in your qualifications, upload your photo and documents, pay the fee and submit. Take a printout of the final submitted page — you’ll need it later.
