For some basic background, there’s been a petition going around Maine to push trans girls out of girls’ sports and girls’ bathrooms. It got to about 82,0000 signatures in February and the threshold necessary to push a new law onto the ballot is only 68,000.

It’s worth mentioning that the petition was funded by a billionaire named Richard Uihlein with a donation of $800,000 in October. He’s been funding causes like this all over the US, even giving million to anti-abortion initiatives.

But now over 12,000 signatures might have to be removed due to problems with how they were collected. Its said that it could be enough to push the petition below the threshold to reach the ballot.

Of course the people pushing it are mad with one of the lawyers claiming this is the invalidation of voters’ signatures.

Others argue that the petition process was poorly managed; leaving signature sheets in public with no one watching them and failing to properly certify signatures.

Graham Platner, the Democratic candidate running for Susan Collins’ Senate seat, has spoken against the petition.

Janet Mills, current governor of Maine, has also spoken against the petition. She also confronted Trump last year over the question of trans sports.

Susan Collins herself supports it but the polls aren’t favoring her.

I mean, c’mon, look at these numbers.

At this point, do you think an anti-trans petition would work in Maine?

If anything, Maine is doing the Right a favor by removing this petition. Collins survived by pretending to look centrist and if the Right wants some future in Maine, they should just stick to trying to protect her seat instead of pushing an anti-trans politician funded by an out-of-state billionaire.

And that will be hard enough given that Trump is going after anyone who challenged him.

He just endorsed a weak candidate for the Senate race in Texas at a time when the polls show a Dem could win.

They don’t know how to stop, even when it could hurt them.
