I Survived Multivendor SEO in Laravel — Here’s the Stack That Actually Worked

Last summer, our marketplace crossed 400 active vendors. Revenue was climbing, but organic growth had completely stalled. Google Search Console was a mess of duplicate page warnings, missing meta descriptions, and soft 404s on deactivated vendor profiles.

If you’re running a multivendor Laravel application, SEO isn’t a content problem — it’s an architecture problem. Here’s what moved the needle.

The Duplicate Content Trap

When vendors copy-paste manufacturer descriptions (and they do, every single time), you end up with hundreds of near-identical product pages. We implemented strict canonical tags pointing to vendor-specific versions and stripped irrelevant query parameters from pagination URLs.

Generating Pages Without the Dev Bottleneck

Our biggest win came from automating vendor landing pages. Instead of hand-coding Blade templates for every new category or region, we used a page generation plugin that hooks directly into Eloquent models. It pulls vendor data — location, category, ratings — and auto-populates title tags, H1s, and structured data.

If your team is currently stuck deploying code every time marketing wants a new vendor page template, I’d recommend looking at https://waravel.com/plugins/page-generator. It eliminated the dev bottleneck entirely.

Sitemaps That Scale

Static sitemaps become a joke once vendors are onboarding weekly. We moved to dynamic generation using queued jobs, segmented everything by vendor category, and added video schema for vendor intro clips.

There’s a solid tutorial that helped me build this without adding unnecessary complexity to our servers: https://youtu.be/nZWmq49yHqQ.

What I’d Do Differently

I’d enforce unique product description rules on upload day one. Retroactively fixing 10,000 duplicate listings is nobody’s idea of a good time.

Treat each vendor page as a standalone microsite, automate the repetitive metadata, and protect your crawl budget like it’s your checking account
