Use Me as a Vessel Unto Your Honour

Greetings, Stewards. How are you doing today? This post should have been dropped yesterday, but I was conflicted between continuing the series on Job’s Faith and Trial and what the Holy Spirit was ministering to me in the place of prayer. I was focused on continuing the series and kept pressing in prayer for direction, yet this message remained: “Use me as a vessel unto your honour.” The Book of Job series will still be touched today, but in a different way.

Before we go into it, I want to thank God for what He did in the month of March. He was faithful, and I am grateful.

The Bible says in 1 Chronicles 29:13 (KJV, NLT, and Complete Jewish Bible):

“Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.” (KJV) “O our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name!” (NLT) “Therefore, our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name.” (CJB)

Did you notice the word “glorious” in all three versions? That is who He was and what He showed throughout the month of March. He was faithful and glorious all through. Alright, let’s go into today’s message. First, what does honour mean? In this context, it means being useful for a good purpose.

In the Bible, Second Epistle to Timothy 2:20–21 (KJV) says:

“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.”

The word “honour” is important here. To be a vessel unto honour means being useful to God, set apart and ready for His work. In any area of life, whether career or business, strive to be someone God can use. That is where true fulfilment comes from.

Don’t just do things because they have to be done. Do them in a way that God can be glorified through you. That is what it means to be a good steward. Looking at the Book of Job, Job’s friends had the opportunity to lift him up, but instead, they spoke from their own understanding.

“Miserable comforters are ye all.”

Job 16:2 (KJV)

They thought they were right, but they did not represent God well in that moment. Let this be a reminder: not everything we say or do reflects God. That is why we must be careful and remain aligned with Him.

Be someone God can rely on, a vessel that is clean, ready, and valuable for His purpose. When you live this way, your life will carry meaning, and God will be seen through you. God wants the best for you, and He wants people to see Him through your life. How amazing is that? I pray you remain a vessel unto honour until the day of Christ. Amen. Shalom.
