Finishing what I start
Sometimes I Feel Proud
Finishing what I start

Sometimes I feel proud of myself, but it’s more than that — sometimes, a quiet warmth spreads through me, reminding me that my efforts matter.
I feel proud when I resist the urge to give up.
I keep going, knowing that negative thoughts won’t linger.
Completing what I set out to do fills me with a gentle satisfaction, a sense of relief that washes away the weight of unfinished tasks.
Yesterday, I composed a list of must-do chores.
Laundry, grocery shopping, and organizing my desk drawers
Washing window sills and bagging clothes for donation.
After crossing out all but the last must-dos on the list,
I paused, actually, I stopped,” The rest can wait till tomorrow.”
But then I thought, I might have to start another list of responsibilities.
So, I continued on until I filled my last bag of wearable donations.
Knowing that there are people who truly need and would be grateful for these gifts fills my heart with a quiet joy, a connection to others I may never meet.
Those who are temporarily unemployed, those who will never be able to earn again.
Due to injuries, mental and physical illnesses, the result of fires, burglaries, or trauma
I finished what I started, which leaves some “ fun-me” time.
A clean house, food for the family, and being able to find what I’ve been hunting for
And, of course, I feel deeply grateful and proud that I could help those in need —
knowing even small acts of kindness can make a difference.
