To be seen and to heard.

how does it feels like to be listened?

For the previous several years of my life, I’ve always been the one people would turn to when they were having troubles or felt the need for someone by their side. I always tell myself that perhaps they like the way I listen, look, and understand them. Who am I to ask for more?

As long as I know someone is there to guide them along the problems they chase in life, I know deep inside they would be fine.

If being heard was not a problem, then maybe being seen is.

Every day, I struggled with life. But that did not change the fact that I was still standing at their sides. With one call, I’d traverse mountains and swim stormy seas to soothe them. I’ve been accused of being a people pleaser, but is this true? well maybe…just maybe.

Hundreds of comforting words and gestures, yet I never got to experience those with them.

Will you see and hear me too when I need you?

As those things ecoed through me, my silent thoughts eats me as I realize none of those things was ever done to me. On my silent nights, together with my silent tears, somehow it made me realize, none of them would know if I wouldn’t tell.

Now, I knew I would always still be the listener but I never got the chance to be listened.
