Idhum Resto: Pretty Place with Yummy Food

Aesthetically pleasing place and plating is important, but good taste is still important — and they have them all.

I visited this cafe when it first opened, in December 2025, based on a friend’s, for a regular get-together: a life update between two friends.

We arrived on a Sunday, around 9:00 a.m., and were immediately greeted by a friendly waitress who asked, “Reservation or Invitation?” Luckily, my friend had already made a reservation, so at least our presence fell into one of the “categories” asked.

As usual, when we’re at a cafe or restaurant, we can’t just order one or two dishes. Especially since it was a new restaurant and it was still early in the morning, so we were curious about the menu, plus we were quiet hungry. So we ordered Aglio Olio, Basil Fried Rice, Salted Chili Tofu, Mendoan (thin tempeh coated in seasoned flour batter and fried until half cooked), and of course, Iced Americano should be our appetizer. Yes, right up front.

Based on the information we received during the reservation, guests were only given two hours, and anyone who stayed longer would have to order more. So, we had already planned to order dessert for the second “session”, as two hours certainly wouldn’t be enough for us.

The menu we ordered, as you can see, were basic meals. Besides being hungry, we wanted to play it safe, but I believe a restaurant’s basic cuisine can determine the overall taste of their food.

While waiting, we, who had been wondering about the “invited” guest category, finally found the answer. Since the restaurant was still very new, it seemed like many influencers were invited to create content there that Sunday. Some people ate while live streaming TikTok, many took turns taking photos in aesthetically pleasing spots, some took multiple videos, and so on. Meanwhile, we acted as commentators for the two of us, haha. We do enjoy ordering a variety of dishes to sample, comment on, and of course, compliment, according to our tastes.

Not to compare, but looking at the menu the guests ordered, ours seemed excessive. Because we’re just being us, as mentioned before. And for the four dishes we ordered, they were all delicious! Our eyes immediately scanned the area and discovered that there was a proper kitchen back there, revealed quite a bit behind the cashier. No wonder, then.

Then another thing we noticed was the fashionable waitresses, in my opinion. The way they wore their headscarves, mixed and matched their outfits, and chose their fashion items was so cool. It was really nice to see. Good job! They were also friendly. Another plus point.

After almost finishing our food, we ordered our dessert: Strawberry Pancakes, which were not only beautifully presented but also delicious.

The area isn’t very spacious, but it’s comfortable. The interior is warm with a mix of wood and emerald green. Classy yet warm. There’s also an outdoor seating area, which is more aesthetically pleasing, but I found it less comfortable for hanging out for long periods.

If you get bored at Idhum, you can move next door to 7 Clover Coffee, which was also busy at the time and is said to serve delicious coffee. My friend, who revisited Idhum and 7 Clover Coffee, told me that the coffee at 7 Clover Coffee is indeed delicious. The other dishes she tried at Idhum were also delicious.
