Go Run. Be Wild. Be Free.

It all started in November.

I was stuck — mentally, emotionally — caught up in the chaos of too many thoughts, too many expectations, and not enough grounding. I needed something to pull me back, something real. That’s when I came across the concept of Misogi — the idea of doing one really hard thing every year. Something that challenges you physically, mentally, even spiritually. Something that has a small chance of success, but a big chance of transformation.

That idea struck me hard.

So I set a goal: Run 10 kilometers on 31st December 2024. Not for anyone else. Just for me.

The Journey Begins

When I started, I could barely manage 2 to 3 kilometers. My body protested, my mind resisted, and doubt crept in more often than motivation. But I showed up anyway. I kept running. 2 km turned into 3. Then 5. I stuck with 5 km for a long time, building the discipline. Eventually, I pushed to 8 km. Then, a few days before the New Year, I ran 10 km — and I finished it.

That moment wasn’t about speed or performance. It was about showing up for myself, about breaking through a wall I had built around me.

And something unexpected happened after that — running stayed.

Why Running Matters to Me

Running slowly carved out a space in my heart that I can’t quite explain. Maybe it’s the silence, the solitude, the sense of progress. Maybe it’s because running allows you to reshape your identity — not through words or likes, but through raw effort. Maybe it’s something primal, some ancient need to move, to run wild and free — as we were built to.

January and February weren’t perfect. Life got busy. I ran maybe once or twice a week. April, too, came with its distractions. But May… something clicked again. I found my rhythm. I’ve been running almost daily now, with the occasional rest day.

And now? It feels like a part of my life. A non-negotiable.

Why You Should Try It

The reason I started running was simple: I wanted something real. Something raw. Something that would pull me out of my head and drop me into the present moment. And slowly — like dominoes falling — running started improving other areas too: my sleep, my focus, even my relationship with myself.

So here’s my invitation to you:

Go run. Be wild. Be free.

Just for an hour a day. No earphones. No distractions. Just you and the road. You and your breath. You and the world around you.

Feel everything. Chase nothing.

Because sometimes, the best way to find yourself — is to run toward yourself.
