KubeCon Europe 2025

The k8gb Team have just finished another action-packed KubeCon, this time in London. So, what did we get up to? Well, we had:

• an end-user talk,
• a lightning talk,
• a community meeting,
• and booth duty!

End-User Talk

We started out pre-conference at Cloud Native Rejekts. Cloud Native Rejekts bills itself as

… the b-side conference giving a second chance to the many wonderful, but rejected talks leading to KubeCon + CloudNativeCon.

We had amazing feedback from our friends Nicolai Ort and Tobias Schneck about how k8gb came to the rescue for DATEV eG and Kubermatic. Check out the recording.

Lightning Talk

Next came our 5 minutes in front of more than 1,000 people to not only talk about what k8gb is, but what it does, why we have it, where we’re going with it, and how to get involved.

Community Meeting

And — we still managed to hold our regular community meeting — number 66! k8gb adopters and maintainers are on Zoom every other Wednesday from 13.00 -13.30 CET. Here’s your invite. And some other ways to get involved:

We talked about DNS zones, Multi-zone issues, Ingress, and whether or not we always need to engage the reconciler at all, or whether dynamic watchers can handle resource updates.

Booth Duty

We had a great time at the KubeCon Project Pavillion — so many new connections, loads of interesting conversations!

We could do this every day — but alas, we’d need more stickers 😉

A theme that kept coming up over and over was folks are looking for a cloud-native, agnostic load balancing solution that is not complicated, just works, and doesn’t break the bank.
