Kedarnath Bhattacharya (conceived 20 October 1957), otherwise called Kumar Sanu, is an Indian playback vocalist. He is known as the Ruler of Song in Bollywood. His voice and singing style are intensely affected by artist Kishore Kumar.[4] He is renowned for singing a huge number of Bollywood Hindi melodies. Aside from Hindi, he has likewise sang in different dialects including Marathi, Nepali, Assamese, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, Manipuri, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Punjabi, Odia,[5] Chhattisgarhi, Urdu, Pali, English and his local language Bengali, both in West Bengal and Bangladesh. He holds the record for winning five successive Filmfare Grant for Best Male Playback Artist (1990–1994) alongside Arijit Singh. For his commitment to Indian film and music, he was granted the Padma Shri in 2009 by the Public authority of India.
