Spark Program — 8th Week Essay

A lightning talk is a very short presentation lasting only a few minutes, typically delivered at conferences or similar forums.

Hi! I hope all of you find very well! 😊 Here I share with you my experience in my 8th week of the Internship program.

In this week I still work on my certification process in the Mahine Learning Engineer Associate with Databricks. I study the fundamentals of the functionality of Databricks platform.

Unity Catalog is a unified governance solution for data and AI assets within the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.

One of the topics I study of Databricks was the Unity Catalog of the platform, that is a solution for the centralized management and governance of the data stored across multiple cloud platforms and ensures the compliance of the regulations the data must have for the business that use this platform.

SQL is a domain-specific language used in programming and designed for managing data held in a relational database management system (RDBMS)

Also, I saw the storage, management and visualization of the data with SQL language. The platform has the capability of stored different Notebooks, with these can stored and manage different tables where is stored the data.

Next, in this week the members of the internship had the Lightning Talks where we present a topic we learn from the certification process. I present a simple introduction to Databricks Platform where I talk about the Lakehouse environment, Unity Catalog and the Clusters that Databricks offers.

Lightning talks are often referred to as ignite talks.

During my presentation I was really nervous and had some mistakes with the slides of the presentation and with my English Speaking that I need to improve. I feel “good” at the end, but in my mind, I knew I could do it better.

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. It uses a kitchen timer to break work into intervals.

At the end, we have a talk about procrastination and how to control it. It was very interesting, and I found the possible reason I had so much trouble with my prefinance in the internship, and that reason was my fear to failure during this program. And in the talk was mentioned a technique called Pomodoro, and this technique uses a clock-rate of 25 minutes of focus work and some breaks during the task you're doing at that moment. Right now, writing this essay I’m doing this technique and I found it very interesting and effective. Now I know how to improve my mindset and focus for my performance, I really enjoy this talk and I hope as it helps me, it helps my comrades of the internship.

And that was all I have to share for this week, I’ll continue working on the certification of Databricks for the next weeks.
