How Can You Help the Campus Cupboard

Missouri Western’s Campus Cupboard needs your help to support our students. The Campus Cupboard provides students with 20 pounds of necessities twice a month so they can have the essential food and toiletries they need to thrive while enrolled in college courses.

Several groups on campus are able to hold food drives and collect donations that support the Campus Cupboard in their efforts. Student organizations are encouraged to collect and donate canned, boxed or bottled foods and dorm room essentials.

Throughout the past year the need for the Campus Cupboard has only grown in the impact it is making on students. With awareness of this program growing, there is always a need for more donations in order to fill up our pantry and reach more students.

Kim Delaney heads efforts for the Campus Cupboard organizing donations brought in and creating a welcoming place for the students to take what they need. Her character and passion for the students presents itself in her efforts towards these students and encouragement for others to get involved.

Delaney said, “It’s really since I’ve been here last August, we’ve had a really big turnout almost every month.”

With the growth of the Campus Cupboard, they are going to continue to provide resources to the students throughout the Summer. Donations provided could help sustain their efforts while the majority of students are away from the Summer.

The Campus Cupboard has helped students at Missouri Western to put aside financial worries to really focus on their coursework. This can alter their time and efforts pushing them towards success in a time of need.

“I’m glad we’re here, that we can help them, and hopefully we’ll keep growing and can help more students.” Delaney said, “any kind of involvement from the students would be wonderful.”
