I don’t take lovers in the day They rush from work, shrouded in smoke Tracing their chaos on my scars
Leaving my bed as they abandon me In a rush; a mess
Their moans burdened with regrets A bouquet of haphazard compliments Promises like sunsets
These lovers of the day
But the lovers of the night They stay Blabber about remnants of their day Make love till sunrise Fantasies by our side Our bare bodies intertwine
We pause; they gasp Deep-lined palms cuddle my breasts My feet graze theirs We sleep
These lovers of the night
