My Journey at the University of Mainz: Helping International Students Apply for a Master’s Degree

Introduction

Studying in Germany is a dream for many students around the world. I was lucky to make this dream come true at Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz (JGU Mainz).

I came to Mainz to pursue my studies and received the DAAD Scholarship for Socially Active International Doctoral Students. This scholarship helped me financially and gave me a chance to be part of a great academic and social community. Over time, I realized many international students struggle with the application process for the Master’s in International Economics and Public Policy (MIEPP).

To help others, I started sharing my experiences. Now, I actively guide students in applying to JGU Mainz through videos, WhatsApp groups, and social media. In this article, I will share my journey, life at Mainz, and a step-by-step guide to help you apply for MIEPP successfully.

Why Choose Mainz for Your Master’s?

Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz is one of the top universities in Germany. The MIEPP program is a great choice for students interested in economics, public policy, and international relations. Some key reasons why Mainz is a great place to study:

✅ High academic standards and excellent research opportunities.

✅ Affordable cost of living compared to other German cities.

✅ A welcoming student community and international environment.

✅ Close to Frankfurt, an important financial hub with job opportunities.

My Experience as an International Student

Moving to a new country can be exciting and challenging. When I arrived in Mainz, I faced many obstacles like handling visa paperwork, accommodation, and cultural differences. But the university helped a lot! The International Office and student groups provided useful support.

Winning the DAAD Scholarship changed my journey. It provided financial help, access to networking events, and career-building opportunities. If you are an international student, I strongly suggest exploring scholarship options to reduce financial stress.

Helping Other Students: My Initiative

Many international students get confused about the admission process. So, I decided to help!

📌 I created a YouTube video explaining the step-by-step application process for the MIEPP program at JGU Mainz. Watch it **here. 📌 I also started a WhatsApp group where students can ask me questions and get guidance. Join [here](https://chat.whatsapp.com/EdcpAcCWyst...)**.
