100 Digital Product Ideas (But You Only Need One That’s Validated)

I’ll give you more ideas than you can use. Then I’ll tell you why 99 of them don’t matter.

You searched for 100 digital product ideas, so I’m going to give you plenty. But I want to be honest with you before I do: the number of ideas you have was never the problem.

My first digital product made $1,023 in its first month, and it came from exactly one idea, validated before I built it. The 99 other ideas I could have chosen would have made nothing, because I never confirmed anyone wanted them.

👉(If you want the full process I use to validate and build a digital product, I put it all here: The Digital Product Playbook.)

So here’s the deal. I’ll give you a large, organized set of ideas across every category that actually sells. Then I’ll show you how to pick the one worth building, because that’s the part that determines whether you make money or just add another unfinished project to the pile.

Templates and Swipe Files

Templates sell because they eliminate the blank-page problem. Notion dashboards, Canva templates, spreadsheet trackers, email swipe files, content calendars, resume templates, invoice and proposal templates, budgeting systems, the list goes on.

But the format is never the product. The pattern that actually works is picking one specific audience and one specific job: not “a productivity template,” but “a client-tracking system for freelance designers.”

Checklists and Frameworks

Anywhere people feel buried under too many steps, a clear checklist is a product. Launch checklists, setup guides for specific tools, SEO audit checklists, moving checklists, wedding planning frameworks, onboarding sequences, content publishing workflows, pre-launch and post-launch checklists, home maintenance schedules, health and habit trackers.

These work because they replace confusion with a clear path, and confusion is buyable.

Mini Courses and Guides

A narrow-outcome course beats a broad one every time. How to set up one specific tool, how to achieve one specific result, a skill taught end-to-end for a defined audience.

Ebooks on a focused topic, video mini courses, email courses delivered over a week, workshops recorded once and sold repeatedly. The narrower the promise, the easier it is to deliver on and the easier it is for a buyer to trust.

AI Prompt Packs and Resources

This category barely existed two years ago and competition is still thin. Prompt packs for a specific tool and a specific outcome, AI workflow guides, custom instructions for particular use cases, prompt libraries for niche industries.

People will pay to skip the trial-and-error of figuring out what actually works with these tools.

Design and Creative Assets

Digital assets people use in their own work. Stock photo bundles, icon sets, social media graphics packs, presentation templates, printables and wall art, digital planners, coloring pages, fonts, Lightroom presets, video overlays and transitions.

These sell to people who need the raw materials for their own projects and would rather buy than build.

Done-for-You Business Resources

Things people would otherwise have to build from scratch. Email templates, outreach scripts, standard operating procedures, client contracts and agreements, pricing calculators, onboarding documents, meeting agendas, sales scripts.

The buyer already knows what they need and just wants to skip the hours of making it themselves.

Niche Tools and Calculators

Spreadsheet-based tools that do the math for a specific decision. Pricing calculators, ad spend trackers, profit margin analyzers, inventory forecasters, ROI calculators, commission trackers, meal and macro planners, workout programming spreadsheets.

Search for “[your niche] calculator” and you’ll often find the gap is wide open.

Educational and Reference Material

Cheat sheets, quick-reference guides, glossaries, comparison charts, decision trees, flowcharts, and study materials for a specific subject. These work as low-priced, high-utility products people keep coming back to.

Why I Stopped Counting at Eight Categories

I could keep listing until I hit 100 individual ideas, but I’d be padding, and padding wouldn’t help you. Every idea above is really a template you fill in with a specific audience and a specific problem.

“Checklist” becomes a hundred different products depending on who it’s for and what it solves. The categories are the raw material. The specific, validated version is the actual product.

The One That Matters

Here’s what separates the idea that makes $1,023 from the 99 that make nothing: validation. Before you build anything from the list above, confirm real demand exists for your specific version.

Look for the same question showing up repeatedly across Reddit, YouTube comments, and forums. Look for an audience that’s excited but confused. Look for a topic growing faster than the content explaining it.

Then narrow. Don’t build “a budget template.” Build “a budget template for freelancers with irregular income.” The category proves demand exists. The specificity clears the competition out of your way.

And before you commit real time to building, test the idea by publishing something small about the problem and seeing whether it lands.

That’s the whole game. A hundred ideas are easy. One validated idea, built for a specific person who’s already looking for it, is what actually makes money. I laid out the entire process, from picking the idea through selling it, here: The Digital Product Playbook.
