Synopsis for Bachelard’s Corner (Painting A Circle Around My Feet For Every Year I’ve Been In Art School) (2018)

Inspired by the ‘Poetics of Space’ written by Gaston Bachelard, specifically the writings on how one can be comforted in ‘corner’ space. Performed in the studio space I used during my final year of my Fine Art Degree. Experimental Video. Each painted circle represents a whole year of my studying in Art School — the duration of which happened in the UK and South Africa. I think the dotted line described the year I transferred in between the art schools of the two countries.
