Poem: Go or Stay

가든지 남든지

다행히 너도 내 눈은 찌르지 못했다.

잊은 지 오래다.

비록 어저께 보았지만, 나는 이미 널 잊었다.

다시 너를 본다 해도, 본다 해도

아무 마음도 동하지 않겠구나.

후회도 없다.

결국 맥주 몇 잔 같이 마신,

스쳐 간 인연일 뿐이잖아.

이 차가운 사람아.

내겐 너무, 잇사이에 낀 고춧가루같이

빼버려야 할 존재일 뿐인 너일 뿐이다.

가버려, 안녕.

잊어도 되는, 미련도 없는 사람아.

내가 첫눈에 눈만 버렸구나.

가버리든가, 여기 남든가 해라.

Fortunately, you couldn’t blind my eyes either.

I’ve long forgotten you.

Though I saw you just yesterday, I have already forgotten you.

Even if I were to see you again, and again,

My heart wouldn’t stir at all.

I have no regrets.

In the end, we just shared a few glasses of beer,

Nothing more than a passing encounter.

You cold-hearted person.

To me, you are like a red pepper flake stuck between my teeth,

Someone I simply need to pick out and discard.

Go away, goodbye.

Someone I can forget, someone I have no lingering feelings for.

My eyes were just tainted at first sight.

Whether you go or stay, do as you please.
