Orchard of one
Poem, 30th of June 2026

I stand tall upon the
hill rising above the city
Surrounded by a vibrant green nothingness
My toes reach deep into the soil beneath me
Hardened, darkened skin taken hostage by the July sun
I stand tall upon the
hill rising within the
orchard where nothing grows and
where my kin visits not
Surrounded by nothing but the knowledge that in this orchard of one, I am the most effervescent
The most pulchritudinous
The only
The only
The only one that stands in this orchard, magnificent
Only
Only if my arms could bear fruit
