JustisOne to close in 2022

Prior to vLex’s acquisition of Justis Publishing, JustisOne was the company’s leading legal research platform, housing common law material from over 30 jurisdictions. Since launching in 2017, JustisOne has supported thousands of organisations worldwide and has been the home of millions of legal documents, exclusive collections of case law, and intelligent tools that help our customers to enhance their research. However, as of 2022, JustisOne will be retired and all existing customers will be upgraded to vLex’s legal research platform, vLex Justis.

In April 2020, vLex launched vLex Justis, alongside JustisOne. Since then, our team has been working hard to ensure vLex Justis can exceed the abilities of JustisOne, offering new content and valuable features to our loyal customers, while also including all of the content available on JustisOne and many other familiar features. All customers will upgrade to our new service throughout 2022, complete with training and online support from your account manager, ensuring a smooth transition between services.

To support the transition between JustisOne and vLex, we have curated some FAQs, however, we encourage all customers to contact their account managers to discuss the transition in detail.

Why is JustisOne being sunsetted?

As vLex continues to grow its research database to offer customers better access to legal information, JustisOne will soon be unable to support much of this new content. vLex Justis offers a more comprehensive database from a greater volume of countries, alongside access to a wider range of tools and features to support research activities.

Will my subscription change?

You will be able to access the same content and you will also have the opportunity to add any additional content or items to your subscription during this process.

How soon do I need to move to vLex Justis?

All customers and users will have access to vLex Justis by mid-2022. JustisOne will remain available for a short period of time following this to allow all users to become fully acquainted with their new resources before JustisOne is turned off. We will provide specific dates in 2022 once all customers are able to access the content they need on vLex Justis.

Will I be able to access the same content?

Yes, you will be able to access all the same content you could access on JustisOne. All users of vLex Justis will also benefit from unlimited search results. This means you will be able to view search results from our entire database to ensure you are conducting comprehensive searches across vLex’s corpus.

Will my email alerts be transferred automatically?

If you have created email alerts in JustisOne, you will need to set these up again in vLex Justis. This will also allow you to create more detailed and customised searches, a feature not possible with JustisOne. Your account manager, alongside our online training and resources, are available to all users to help them become familiar with vLex Justis alert features.

What support is available to me and my colleagues?

All customers are invited to book personalised online training sessions and register to attend comprehensive webinars with our dedicated team. We recommend booking these in for teams or organisations at the same time. Individual sessions can be arranged with in-house trainers and law librarians if required. vLex also offers a wide range of online resources and regular events to help you learn more about vLex Justis.

Does vLex Justis offer the same sign-in options as my organisation uses on JustisOne?

Yes, vLex Justis can offer the same sign-in access options as JustisOne. If you are part of a large organisation and use remote access, IP access or other authentication methods that require customisation, please contact us as soon as possible.

Who can I contact?

If you are the primary contact of a subscription to JustisOne, please contact your account manager directly. If you are a user of JustisOne, as part of a larger organisation or educational institution, please contact your library first for an update on the change to your resources.
