I worked for a number of years and on multiple occasions for Cafe Walnut Grove and the original owners the Drakopoulos family .

Johnny was a forthright person with some unusual quirks — at least to me that was the case . He was often going around the 60 tables we had there and asking everyone while lowering his frame to their level , either by kneeling or crouching he would ask emphatically if everything was ok with the service and the taste of the food .

His training to the waitrons was this , “ people when you come up the stairs to work here — forget and do not carry your problems from home ! Here you are Hollywood actors and how well you play your part , will determine how long you will stay working for us . People want to see smiles and great service along with the scrumptious food that we cook and serve”
