#30. Part 2 -Your Attention — The Most Powerful Gift in a World of Chaos
Our attention is like a super power. If we give it away, we give away the path to our own kingdom (divinity). If we give it away, we give away one of our most powerful human gifts that essentially is the bridge to our own true nature.
We have to reclaim that skill of maintaining our attention to remain centered.
If we don’t then we are at the mercy of manipulation and influences from the external world (war, chaos, news, marketing, advertising, social media, dogma, paradigms, family, friends, corrupted individuals and politicians, and now AI that’s messing with our sense of reality). It sways us off our own truth and infiltrates our true being. It shapes our experiences, and thus our identity. If we let external forces invade our being, we are now living from that matrix, giving in to the darkness, versus our own truth. Unhappiness, and misery creeps in. Pain, and depression takes over. Illnesses and sickness seep in. We have lost our own way. In essence, we have lost the connection to the self. And in that, we built unnatural systems of living.
Like capitalism, for example.
There’s nothing species appropriate in the way we eat, work, and live. It goes against the nature of what we are.
We have lost complete touch with the law of nature and essence of being human. I honestly think that’s what it means to be a fallen angel. We have lost the connection, understanding and reverence of our own divinity. We live in this artificial life, that no longer resembles nor honors our true essence. You tell me what is natural about eating artificial food, sitting in some sort of transportation system for hours to get from A to B so that we can spend another 8+ hrs in an unnatural position kidnapping our mind, body and soul. Only so that we can give the money we are making at work to some stranger that is raising our kids, who then end up having severe attachment disruptions. Then we wonder why we are anxious or dismissive avoidant, have severe mental health issues, and can’t seem to find our soulmate. Not to mention if we do partner up, it seems to be a life of misunderstanding, or misalignment, and at the end of the day we are all too exhausted from our unnatural daily responsibilities to the extent where not only is it a luxury to have kids, but in this system, it’s become a luxury to maintain connection and romance as none of us even have the capacity to be present, and connected to other living creatures: human, animals, the planet.
When has genuine, true romance and connection become a luxury?
It makes total sense why some people decide to leave and get out of the rat race, living off the grid. I get it. I totally get it. Like I said, none of this is species conducive. I think we are all fallen angels. Until we wake up. And find our way back home. And that path starts within. A crisis occurs where we hit rock bottom. We wake up. We redirect our attention.
Regardless the chaos out there, and the enormity of “fallen angels”, we still have free will. We have a choice. We just don’t see it, initially. Until, as I always say, a crisis strikes and becomes our wake up call. This toxic relationship was “my” wake up call. And I entered a journey of searching and discoveries that are now paving my new path.
I came across a story of a woman who had an NDE, a near death experience. She was married. With two children. Her husband was abusive. During her NDE while in surgery, which was incredibly moving to listen to, she wanted to go back to her life despite the absolute acceptance, love, and comfort she experienced on the other side. It was a life changing feeling. Despite this most incredible experience, she knew she needed to go back to protect her children from this man who was their father. She was shown life clips of all the incidences and the typical cycles of abuse she endured, and that she would be going back to that life.
As she was shown a review of her life , she realized that it wasn’t him who needed to change. It was her.
The change needed had to do with “her” life journey, “her” growth. “Her” awakening and learning and what “she” needed to do to step on her true path. Listening to this was incredibly powerful. It gave me goosebumps. It aligns with my own discovery about the human journey. That we have a choice in one way or the other within a given situation. That we have to take responsibility, not for the toxic or abusive behavior of the various forms of perpetrators out there, but for the choices and decisions we have made that affected our lives. Because with that new awareness comes a level empowerment and agency. That we can course correct. And, even when we live inside a world that has completely fallen and lost its way, our attention and where we place it is our guardian and safe keeper to our own divinity. Reconnecting to that inner world is where we can find safety and peace.
She went back, into her body. Into her life. And stepped into her own path.
Another man, an activist who died from a heart attack, reported similar learnings after his NDE. He came back with a radical sense of accountability and an understanding about the mechanisms and essence of our nature. He emphasized:
‘We have to learn to understand what we are doing and choosing in our lives.’
The choices we have made from these accumulated identity packages have affected our lives. We have a choice in how long we live out of integrity with ourselves, how long we choose to live in chaos, and how long we choose to tolerate suffering and misery.
Part of the journey is to understand the human mechanism, go through it, but not identify with it.
He stresses the need to hone our skill of attention (my opening statement). He shared some powerful words, confirming the new discoveries I made about emotions in my last few blog posts. We are not our emotions, yet the human identifies with them. They are just part of our apparatus, or essence; the key is not to identify. If you do, you prolong the misery and pain. Instead, you observe them, fully feel them, and process them. But then, you let them pass through you. If you hold on and identify, you perpetuate your own misery.
I also came across another podcast about Aaron Abkea, a former devout Christian and theologian. He became a pastor at 22, following in his father’s footsteps. At 23, he had a huge identity crisis with his religion. For the next 10 years he studied Eastern traditions, Hinduism and Buddhism and became a body builder and fitness model. Interesting change of life. He had a “so called awakening” a few years later, gave up his career and started studying “The Law of One”. I’m in the middle of listening to an interview to explore his views.
It appears to me that the whole journey of the human, the purpose of our individual lives, at least in these times that we are currently in, is to reconnect and re-discover our own unique path of the soul and live it freely and to the fullest.
It’s been an interesting journey, and I enjoy the depth and path of my new discoveries. Like I keep on saying, healing doesn’t have to be painful. You can turn the Hero’s Journey into an exciting adventure.
