The calm of the past was not because humanity had found answers. It was because the predictability of economic life sustained a vast collective illusion. When that illusion fades, we see what was always true: this world never built a publicly shared framework for reasoning — one resistant to emotional manipulation, one that could be tested and verified.

I. Where We Stand

Look at the world today: exhausting overwork with no reward, quiet withdrawal from effort, information drowned in noise, institutional corruption, the retreat of international order before raw power. These phenomena appear unrelated. They share a single root.

When economies shift from growth to zero-sum competition, individuals discover that effort no longer translates into a better life. The future — as a variable in personal reasoning — loses its meaning. Meanwhile, international norms yield to force, judicial authority bends under economic pressure, and fairness degrades from a foundation into a luxury.

At this point, relentless overwork is the irrational struggle of those who still believe the rules hold. Quiet withdrawal is the rational exit of those who have realized the rules are broken. Neither is a moral failure. Both are the inevitable collapse of individual logic in a system that is neither predictable nor just.

This is not unprecedented. Before every major social unraveling in history, there was a period when people chose to watch from the sidelines — not from indifference, but from a clear-eyed recognition that participation in a tilted game is merely self-destruction.

The question, therefore, is not: why do people stop trying? The question is: what reason has this world actually given them to try?

II. A New Productive Force Has Arrived

The rise of artificial intelligence is the most consequential transformation of productive capacity in modern history. For the first time, large-scale production no longer requires dense human labor. For the first time, the acquisition, organization, and application of knowledge can be achieved at near-zero marginal cost.

And yet: a revolution in productive force, unmatched by an equivalent revolution in social contract, produces only one outcome — further concentration of wealth, further collapse in the value of human labor, and a deeper descent into the disorder that is already unraveling.

AI is not the end of the problem. It is a door. Where that door opens depends entirely on whether we have the courage to rewrite the fundamental contract between human beings and labor, reward, and meaning.

We advance one central claim:

Every nation, every society, should build upon its existing social protections a Learning Mechanism — linking basic livelihood security to continuous human learning and self-development, rather than anchoring it solely to the supply and demand of a labor market that AI is rapidly rendering obsolete.

What the Mechanism Looks Like

Any individual — regardless of age, background, or country — can earn basic living support by choosing a field of learning, completing study, or passing skill assessments. This is not unconditional welfare. It anchors reward to human self-evolution: the one form of human value that AI cannot replace.

A Boundary That Must Be Clear

The Learning Mechanism rests on a core distinction — essential to prevent misreading this framework:

Layer One: Learning earns basic livelihood. The mechanism’s purpose is to guarantee every person’s fundamental right to survive — ensuring that no one is pushed into destitution by economic collapse. This is a floor, not a ceiling.

Layer Two: Knowledge converted into productive value earns a better life. Greater material wellbeing requires that people transform what they have learned into real contributions — through collaborative production, creative design, technical application — exchanging genuine value created for higher reward.

This distinction is critical. The first layer answers: can a person survive? The second answers: can a person flourish? Between the two lies the space of individual choice. Learning is the threshold. Creation is the ladder. No one is compelled to climb higher — but everyone has the means to do so.

This is also the fundamental difference between this mechanism and Unconditional Basic Income (UBI): UBI gives people fish. The Learning Mechanism teaches people to fish. Collaborative production gives them an ocean worth fishing in.

Who Funds It — and Why Would They?

Funding can come from governments, enterprises, or civil society — each driven by its own interest:

Governments already fund student education through existing budgets. Introducing learning-linked incentives requires no dramatic new expenditure — only a reorientation of existing frameworks toward measurable learning outcomes.

Enterprises supply targeted learning resources for two reasons: first, to strengthen their own market competitiveness — an agricultural company, for example, trains people in cultivation techniques and thereby creates a distributed network of producers; second, to identify exceptional talent from a large pool of learners, at a fraction of traditional recruitment costs.

Civil society organizations and charities can make learning a condition of aid — transforming themselves from dispensers of relief into enablers of capability. This is not a burden imposed on recipients. It is a form of genuine respect: the recognition that every person has the capacity to change their own circumstances.

The Right to Choose What to Learn Belongs to the Individual

This is the mechanism’s most essential design principle. Each person may simultaneously learn from multiple sources — qualifying under one enterprise’s technical standards and another country’s curriculum at the same time, earning reward from whichever they achieve first.

Knowledge pluralism is therefore built into the incentive structure itself. Once learning earns compensation, people will naturally study across disciplines. And that cross-disciplinary foundation inherently defeats any single-source indoctrination — because multiple dimensions of knowledge produce mutual verification.

An AI platform coordinates in real time: inputs, technical guidance, quality assurance, logistics. The enterprise receives its product. The producers receive their reward.

This is not a special case. It is a model replicable across nearly every sector: organizers, researchers, producers, distributors — each role integrated through AI into scaled, self-managing systems.

In this structure, AI is not the replacement. It is the coordinator. It processes information, matches needs, and verifies outputs. But the decisions, the creativity, and the productive action come from thousands of real individuals equipped with cross-disciplinary knowledge.

This is a post-corporate form of productive relationship: decentralized, low in internal friction, self-organizing — driven by human creativity rather than concentrated capital.

Cognitive awakening is unidirectional and irreversible. Every major expansion of human knowledge in history has permanently altered the balance of power between authority and the individual. The printing press ended the Church’s monopoly on knowledge. The Enlightenment eroded the divine right of kings. When the fear of destitution recedes — when the sense of betrayed fairness is repaired — competition changes its nature.

And when human society truly enters this mode of creation, the outward expansion of civilization becomes inevitable.

Earth is humanity’s cradle. It is not our destination. When zero-sum competition over Earth’s resources no longer dominates human attention — when AI-enabled collaborative production renders scarcity a solvable rather than permanent condition — humanity will turn its gaze outward: mining asteroids, building cooperative structures in space, exploring other worlds.

The social contract built on AI-enabled learning and collaboration will become humanity’s passport beyond Earth. The logic of learn, collaborate, create — proven effective on this planet — is universally portable. It works on any world.

This is not science fiction. It is the logical endpoint of the chain. From rebuilding economic contract, to constructing cognitive immunity, to realizing positive-sum competition — each step is the necessary precondition for the next.

1. What will the transition period look like in practice? How will the passage from today’s world to a broadly adopted new social contract actually unfold? Is the pain of transition necessary — and can it be guided?

2. How can learning verification systems maintain scientific integrity and neutrality across different cultural and political contexts?

3. How should AI coordination platforms be governed, so that the coordinators themselves do not become a new center of power?

4. Where are the precise limits of positive-sum competition? Which human traits — striving, risk-taking, creating — should be preserved? Which — predation, deception, manipulation — will naturally recede under a new contract?

5. What will be the first concrete historical event or institutional breakthrough that marks humanity’s step beyond Earth?

These questions have no standard answers. They are the blank spaces this manifesto leaves for the world — invitations to collision of thought, not admissions of incompleteness.
