THE CARNAL LOVE

How easy it is for the blind to fall into a ditch.

Oh, how easier it is for man to walk outside the WILL of GOD.

Ever wondered what love encompasses?

They say the heart of man is desperately wicked, how then can he say he loves someone?

What sponsors love in the heart of men?

What does it mean to love another human?

For what purpose do you profess your love?

The greatest commandment given is to “LOVE”.

The litmus test of your discipleship in Christ is gotten by the way you LOVE.

So many believers have decided to walk according to the WILL OF GOD, thereby loving GOD and also loving MEN.

A wonderful thing to do.

Infact, the kingdom of heaven is excited on this your decision.

However, some believers think they’re walking in love, but they have no idea that they strayed out of the path long ago.

In their mind, their superior thinking, God made them an agent of love, but what they currently display is “Self-Service”.

THE CARNAL LOVE

What do you mean by “Carnal”?

The word “Carnal” translates to “sarx” in greek language, as used in the bible.

“sarx” translates to the ‘flesh’.

In the same scriptures, the greek word “Soma” is also used for “Flesh”.

What then is the difference since both were used for flesh in the scriptures?

Sarx has to do with the sensuous nature of the flesh. While Soma has to do with the covering (the physical covering) of an entity. Both essentially refers to the flesh, the body of man, but the emphasis of both is different.

NB: Most times in KJV, “Body” translated to “Soma”, While “Flesh” translated to “Sarx”.

To be Carnal means to be Sensual.

Carnality has to do with SENSUALISM (Sensationalism).

SENSUALISM is the addiction to or obsession with sensual pleasures or affairs. The Carnal mind focuses on pleasing its own senses. It wants to feel good, even in the things of God. Everything is about him.

Love on the other hand is a characteristic of God.

It is the greatest commandment to all believers.

It is our way of life. It is by “Love” you know who’s truly a disciple of Christ.

The Carnal Love is an adulterated form of love in the lives of men especially in the lives of believers with good intentions of walking in Love.

Love in itself is not carnal.

But, in a bid to walk in love, they became addicted to sensual pleasures

Their expression of love left the main focus (Christ) and focuses on being liked by men.

They now focus on people seeing them as an entity of love.

They use love as a weapon for attention.

Do you know what they are?

They are nothing but SENSUALISTS.

They think they’re serving God, but they left the practice of the faith long ago, the spirit does not recognize their lovewalk.

They now practice the doctrine of sensualism.

Their ethics, their way of thinking, their truths is based on what originates in their sensations.

Their standard of good is on what they feel.

Whereas GOD should be the standard.

When the time to speak the truth comes, the adulterated love in them won’t let them speak. Why? They lost the truth long ago.

Even the truth in their seemingly loving relationship offends them greatly.

They left the service of God long ago. They stopped practicing the true love of God and are now servants of sensualism.

Sensualists, that’s what they are.

Scriptures tells us:

6 For to be [b]carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the [c]carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. Romans 8: 6–8 NKJV

No matter what they say or do, their love cannot please God.

Until they leave that point and begin to see God as the source of Love and him being the focus of their love, they remain servants of their senses.

7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love 1John 4: 7–8 NKJV

The True Love of God is not a matter of who you like or who you want to be associated with.

It has nothing to do with your desires as a person.

You cannot love without God. He’s the source of love.

Only he is the standard of how to love.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 NKJV

In God’s Demonstration here, we see that LOVE is a CHOICE.

It’s a CHOICE to LOVE the other person.

It’s not about your emotions or wanting to be liked by numerous people in the society.

God, who cannot behold iniquity still chose to love us and gave us the greatest gift, CHRIST.

We must love and not just that, we must LOVE RIGHT.

This does not in any way negate the EXPRESSION of love to others.

24 Therefore show to them, ]and before the churches, the PROOF OF YOUR LOVE and of our boasting on your behalf. 2Corinthians 8:24 NKJV

In as much as we must avoid being SENSUALISTS, we must also show the proof of our love to others. You must show WORKINGS.

Love is not just in words, it is a DEMONSTRATION, it is an EXPRESSION.

18 My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. 1John 3:18 NKJV

But the focus must never shift from Christ.

When it’s time to stand for the truth comes, we must stand with all love in our hearts.

We must not place the feelings of others over the truth.

Love can HURT, but it is always in a bid to prevent HARM.

The Carnal Love has no stand in the kingdom of heaven.

We must shift and realign our mindset, in order to see the results and reward of our Love-walk.
