Three Travelers to Watch
- Anderson (SEA #2) was the third overall pick in last July’s MLB Draft by the Mariners. The former LSU standout leads the Texas League with his 1.63 ERA, pacing the circuit as well in WHIP (0.80) and strikeouts (58).
- OF Lazaro Montes (SEA #4) leads the Travelers and ranks fourth in the Texas League with 11 home runs after he hit 32 across two levels last season as a 21-year-old.
- Tellache was named Texas League Pitcher of the Week two weeks ago after pitching 7.1 one-hit innings against Northwest Arkansas with a season-high nine strikeouts. The Oregon product has the third-best ERA (2.88) in the league, just behind Anderson.
Three RoughRiders to Watch
- INF John Taylor leads the Texas League with his .452 on-base percentage, as one of just nine players in Minor League baseball with an OBP over .450 and a slugging percentage above .500. After homering just twice in 2025, Taylor has hit six in just 39 games this season, while more than doubling his walk rate.
- MacLean pitched a career-high six innings Sunday against San Antonio, logging his first-ever Minor League quality start by surrendering just five hits — all singles — and one run. The lefty has been a consistent source of length in the RoughRiders’ rotation, recording at least one out in the fifth inning in seven of his eight starts this season.
- RHP Eric Loomis made his return from the injured list by punching out two in a scoreless inning Sunday. The reliever has yet to allow an earned run across his first 12 outings of 2026, one of just two Texas Leaguers with a 0.00 ERA across 12 or more appearances.

John Taylor leads the RoughRiders in batting average (.314) and on-base percentage (.452)
Three Things to Know
- Strength on Strength: Frisco’s offense has been arguably the league’s best in 2026, leading the Texas League in batting average (.275) and OPS (.828) and ranking second in runs scored (284). Meanwhile, Arkansas owns the most successful pitching staff in the league so far, with a 3.55 ERA that is nearly a full run better than the next best team. The Travelers have walked just 138 batters, more than 40 fewer than second place in the league as well.
- To Be the Best…: The Travelers sit atop the Texas League North with a 28–17 record, the second-best mark in all of Double-A despite a 3–7 start. Arkansas has won five consecutive series, twice taking five games from its opponent in that stretch.
- Split Up: After two tight-fought six-game sets against each other last year, Frisco and Arkansas split their season series 6–6. Eight of the 12 games were decided by two runs or fewer, including five straight in their August meeting.
