Locus Chain Unveils Demo Video of Next-Generation Order Book DEX ‘LDEX’

Publisher: edaily Pub Date: Jul 20, 2026

Achieves high-speed on-chain trading through a fully decentralized, serverless architecture Combines ultra-low latency with trustless execution, setting a new benchmark for Web3 financial infrastructure

Bloom Technology, the developer of the next-generation high-performance blockchain platform Locus Chain, has released a demonstration video of its next-generation order book-based decentralized exchange (DEX), LDEX.

The demonstration was conducted in a test environment and showcases the core functionalities required for order book trading, including order placement and execution, real-time order book updates, position management, and test asset transfers. The video also demonstrates asset transfers between the Locus Chain core network and its EVM subchain, as well as MetaMask wallet integration.

The cryptocurrency market has recently seen rapid growth in the adoption of decentralized exchanges (DEXs), which allow users to trade directly from their own wallets without entrusting their assets to an exchange.

Traditional stock trading platforms, such as HTS and MTS, as well as most centralized cryptocurrency exchanges (CEXs), hold users’ assets in custody and process transactions on their behalf. In contrast, DEXs do not take custody of users’ assets.

Instead, users connect their own wallets directly to the platform, while all transactions are verified through the blockchain network. Because the exchange never holds customer assets, the risks of hacking and asset misappropriation are fundamentally reduced. Users retain full ownership of their assets and benefit from greater transparency over their transactions. As a result, DEXs are rapidly gaining adoption as a core financial infrastructure of the Web3 era.

Despite their growing adoption, DEXs have long faced a fundamental technical challenge: matching the speed and throughput of centralized exchanges (CEXs). Processing the massive volume of orders generated every second without introducing latency has remained difficult, as conventional blockchain networks have lacked the performance required to support real-time order book trading. As a result, most DEXs have relied on the Automated Market Maker (AMM) model instead.

An order book records buy and sell orders in real time and matches them at the best available prices. It is the industry standard used by stock exchanges, brokerage platforms, and centralized cryptocurrency exchanges worldwide. The challenge lies in the fact that orders are continuously created, canceled, modified, and executed at extremely high frequency. Implementing this process entirely on-chain requires exceptional throughput and ultra-low latency. Consequently, even DEXs that adopted order books have generally been forced to compromise either performance or decentralization.

Hyperliquid was the first project to meaningfully challenge this trade-off. By delivering high-speed, order book-based trading on-chain, it has grown into one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, processing daily trading volumes approaching KRW 10 trillion (approximately USD 7–8 billion) and ranking among the top five global exchanges by trading volume. It demonstrated that ultra-fast on-chain trading is commercially viable and established a new benchmark for the DEX market.

However, its performance-first architecture also revealed new limitations. Its reliance on a single trading engine reduced the degree of decentralization, while operations became increasingly dependent on a limited set of oracle providers and market makers. As a result, the next generation of DEXs must go beyond speed alone, delivering not only high performance but also resilience, scalability, and true decentralization.

LDEX, unveiled by Locus Chain, is a next-generation order book-based DEX designed to address these longstanding challenges. Order book trading generates tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of orders per second, making transaction delays and network congestion unavoidable on conventional blockchain networks. Rather than sacrificing either performance or decentralization, LDEX solves this problem by fundamentally enhancing the processing capabilities of its underlying blockchain.

At the core of LDEX is Locus Chain, a next-generation public blockchain engineered for high-performance, large-scale applications. Locus Chain combines Dynamic Sharding, DAG-based parallel processing, BFT consensus, and Verifiable Pruning to deliver consistent performance even under heavy network demand. As transaction volume increases, Dynamic Sharding automatically scales the network’s processing capacity, while DAG-based parallel processing enables the blockchain to handle hundreds of thousands of transactions per second. Looking ahead, Locus Chain’s multi-layer Dynamic Sharding architecture, capable of validating and processing tens of millions of transactions per second, provides the scalability required for future ultra-large-scale services.

A key innovation that preserves decentralization is Verifiable Pruning. This technology dramatically reduces the amount of blockchain data that validator nodes must store — down to a level manageable even on mobile devices — while maintaining the full integrity and verifiability of transaction history. As a result, storage requirements and network operating costs are significantly reduced, enabling validator nodes to run not only on high-performance servers but also on ordinary PCs and mobile devices. This lowers the barrier to network participation, allowing anyone to become a validator and fostering a higher degree of decentralization without relying on a small group of operators.

Beyond decentralized finance, this architecture is designed to support a wide range of real-time, large-scale applications, including gaming, finance, AI, and media, where high throughput, low latency, and decentralized trust are equally critical.

According to Bloom Technology’s internal performance benchmarks, LDEX achieved up to three times the order processing throughput (Orders per Second) and transaction execution speed (latency) of existing high-performance DEXs. The company stated that the platform is designed to deliver a consistent user experience without performance degradation, even during periods of heavy trading activity.

LDEX is not intended to be merely a faster exchange. By combining high performance with scalability, decentralization, and security, it aims to provide a next-generation digital asset trading infrastructure that delivers both speed and trust. Leveraging these technological strengths, Locus Chain plans to establish a new benchmark for Web3 financial infrastructure and the global digital asset trading market.

Expanding Beyond Finance into Gaming and Real-World Assets

Locus Chain sees LDEX as a proving ground for demonstrating the capabilities of its blockchain technology in real-time order processing and high-volume trading environments. Building on this foundation, the company plans to expand the technology into industries requiring large-scale, real-time data processing, including finance, gaming, real-world assets (RWAs), and digital payments.

A spokesperson for Bloom Technology said:

“LDEX is more than just a decentralized trading platform. It is a showcase of how Locus Chain’s blockchain technology can support real-time order processing and power a wide range of industry applications.”

The spokesperson added:

“By combining the intuitive user experience of traditional exchanges with the transparency and security of decentralization, LDEX will provide a digital asset trading environment that users can trust. Our vision is to grow LDEX into a next-generation decentralized trading infrastructure and a global standard for the Web3 financial ecosystem.”
