The Tree That Reflects Our Soul.
Have you ever looked at a tree and felt like it was telling your story?
The Tree That Reflects Our Soul.

A picture by me -on my way to the mountains
Have you ever looked at a tree and felt like it was telling your story?
There I was, glancing out of a moving window, when the world outside paused me not with something grand or extraordinary, but with something painfully, beautifully real.
A single tree stood against a grey, overcast sky. Half of it blazing with bright yellow blossoms, bursting with life, warmth, and color. The other half was dry, tangled, and brown, quietly crumbling into itself.
And in that one moment, I saw us. I saw you. I saw me
The Yellow Blooms: The Life We Celebrate
Look at those golden flowers. They don’t whisper, they announce. They drape themselves across every branch with a kind of reckless joy, as if they know their season is short and they refuse to waste a single day of it.
That is, you, on your best days.
That is, you when you laughed so hard your stomach hurt. When you got that call you had been waiting for. When someone looked at you as if you were the most important person in the room. When a dream you had quietly carried for years finally, finally, broke into bloom.
Those yellow flowers are your achievements, your love stories, your friendships that feel like home. They are the mornings you woke up and thought today feels like mine. They are the version of you that your mother brags about, the version your younger self would look at with wide, tearful eyes and say, “We made it.”
The yellow doesn’t just represent happiness. It represents resilience flowering into beauty. Because no flower blooms on a branch that hasn’t weathered wind.
The Dry, Tangled Branches, The Life We Hide
But then, look to the other side.
The dry, brittle, brown branches. The ones that don’t catch the eye or make it to anyone’s photograph. The parts that look broken, forgotten, stripped bare of everything that once made them alive.
That is also you. That is also me.
Those branches are the nights you cried into your pillow and told no one. The relationships that slowly dried up despite how hard you watered them. The job that drained you. The version of yourself you tried to fix but kept returning to. The grief that never fully left, just learned to sit quieter in the corner of your chest.
Those dead branches are the apologies you never received. The opportunities that slipped. The version of yourself you lost somewhere between trying to survive and trying to belong.
We never post pictures of those branches. We crop them out. We filter over them. We say, “I’m fine,” smile, and let people only see the yellow blooms. But those dry parts are not your failure. They are your history. They are proof that you have been through seasons that tried to break you.
But Here’s What the Tree Knows That We’ve Forgotten
The yellow and the dry exist on the same tree. The same roots. The same soil. The same sky.
The tree doesn’t apologize for its dead branches. It doesn’t hide them behind the flowers. It stands there, whole and unapologetically both broken and blooming, grieving and glowing, scarred and still reaching upward.
That overcast, grey sky above it? That’s not misery. That’s just a difficult season. And yet the tree blooms anyway. Not because everything is perfect. But because that is what trees do. That is what we do.
You don’t have to have it all figured out to be still beautiful. You don’t have to have healed completely to be still worthy of being seen. You are allowed to be the tree messy and magnificent, flawed and flowering, all at once.
A Letter to Anyone Who Feels More Dead Branch Than Yellow Flower Right Now
If today you feel more like the dry, tangled side, I need you to know something.
The same tree that looks half-dead in winter is the one standing full of flowers in spring. Seasons change. The branches that look dead right now are not gone; they are waiting. They remember what it felt like to bloom, and somewhere deep in the bark, in the roots, in the quiet dark, they are preparing to do it again.
Your difficult chapter is not your final chapter.
The grey sky will not stay grey forever.
Before you scroll away, sit with these questions for a moment, really sit with them:
What “yellow flower” moment in your life forgotten to be grateful for lately?
Which “dry branch,” which painful part of yourself, have you been hiding that deserves to finally be acknowledged?
