Food carries legacy,
Raw mango-mint chutney

Food is deeply linked to happy memories.
My mom’s mint-raw-mango chutney is rare, authentic and rustic.
I miss my mom so much.
There is no better way to carry her legacy than by cooking the food that she used to prepare for us.
Recently, I tried her raw mango mint sauce (chutney).
Although it couldn’t match my mom’s chutney’s taste, it was somewhat near in taste.
We used to eat it mostly for breakfast with sprouted moong chilla.
Although you can have it with anything, food definitely tastes better with it.
Also, it is so nutritious with all the greens and lemon in it.
It was a staple dish in my mother’s kitchen.
Today, I am thanking her by sharing the recipe of this family chutney with all of you.
I hope you will like it.
The ingredients for this chutney, as per taste, are
Raw mango
Mint
Green coriander
Lemon
Green chillies
Salt
Honey or sugar

The recipe is as follows.
Take some clean, green coriander and mint leaves in almost the same proportion.
Wash them properly.
Peel and cut a raw mango and cut it into small pieces.
Blend all three ingredients in a mixer.
Add some lemon, honey, sugar, and salt into it and blend till it becomes a paste.
Add some ice cubes and blend again.
There, you get a cool green chutney.
You can enjoy it with your food or with your snacks.
Today I made this chutney along with chickpeas (chole), potatoes (masala aaloo) and parathas.

That completes the thali.
Finally, I had a masala tea after this sumptuous meal.
Hope you like the recipe and try it once.
