DevFest Prayagraj 2025: A Day That Strengthened My Builder Mindset

On 30 November 2025, I attended DevFest Prayagraj 2025, organized by Google Developer Groups Prayagraj under the global Google Developer Groups initiative.

I went there expecting to learn about new tools and technologies. I returned with something much deeper. The event gave me clarity, connection, inspiration, and a renewed sense of direction in my tech journey.

Hosted at United Institute of Technology, the venue was filled with developers, students, creators, and tech enthusiasts who shared one common trait. Curiosity. You could feel it in the conversations happening in hallways, in the attention during sessions, and in the discussions that continued even during breaks.

DevFest was not just a conference. It felt like a gathering of people who genuinely care about building and growing together.

Experiencing It With My People

I attended the event with my friends Animesh Pathak and Shubham Anand Gupta, along with my seniors Ayushi Maurya, Asra Shahid, and Saumya Verma. Having them around made a huge difference.

Large tech events can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when there are so many sessions, speakers, and people. But attending as a group transformed the experience. We discussed ideas between sessions, questioned certain concepts, and shared insights immediately after talks ended. Instead of passively consuming information, we actively processed it together.

That collective curiosity made the learning deeper.

Sessions That Expanded My Perspective

One of the most impactful sessions for me was delivered by Anubhav Singh on Gemini CLI and the MCP Server. The session was energetic, technically rich, and clearly structured. What impressed me the most was not just the speed of delivery but the clarity. Complex AI tooling concepts were explained in a way that felt practical and usable.

Rather than presenting AI as something abstract, the session focused on how these tools can realistically improve development workflows. It showed how rapidly the ecosystem is evolving and how important it is to stay adaptive as a developer.

After the session, I had the opportunity to interact with Anubhav sir and Nitin Tiwari sir. That short conversation gave me additional perspective on where AI tooling is heading and how developers can position themselves in this shift. Sometimes a five minute interaction outside the stage carries more weight than an entire slide deck.

A small but memorable highlight was receiving a Weights and Biases sticker from Anubhav sir. It may seem simple, but moments like that stay with you. They symbolize participation, engagement, and being part of a larger ecosystem.

Later in the day, I met Ankit Kumar Verma sir for the first time after his session. Speaking with him directly made the experience more personal and inspiring. It reinforced something important for me. The tech community is not distant or unreachable. It becomes accessible when you take initiative to interact and engage.

Other sessions added equally valuable insights. Praveen Das sir spoke about the true power of open source communities and how collaboration drives sustainable innovation. His talk reminded me that growth in tech is rarely a solo journey.

Pankaj Rai sir shared practical approaches to improving productivity using ADK and Firebase. The focus on real world application made the session highly relatable.

Nitin Tiwari sir demonstrated how Gemini 2.0 Flash can transform simple ideas or sketches into generative AI outputs within seconds. Watching a rough concept turn into a functional output so quickly was both exciting and thought provoking. It made me reflect on how development workflows are changing and how AI is becoming deeply embedded in them.

Jay Thakkar sir discussed ambitious and futuristic ideas related to AI advancement and emerging technologies. Some concepts stretched imagination, but that is often where innovation begins. Exposure to big thinking challenges your current limitations.

The People Behind the Event

One of the strongest impressions I carried from DevFest was the dedication of the volunteers. They were coordinated, welcoming, and genuinely enthusiastic. Every interaction felt warm and organized.

I had conversations with several volunteers and ended up making new friends throughout the day. That sense of belonging is something you cannot replicate through online learning or recorded sessions. Community events create human connections that extend beyond a single day.

The real strength of DevFest was not just the content on stage but the environment it created.

A Creative Break With a Security Twist

During the lunch break activity, I created a cybersecurity themed poster using Nano Banana. As someone deeply interested in cybersecurity and systems, this small creative task felt refreshing.

Security often requires analytical and structured thinking. Experimenting with AI driven creative tools during the break reminded me that innovation happens when logic and creativity intersect. Even informal activities can spark unexpected ideas.

Observing Beyond Attendance

As someone actively involved in tech communities, I did not just attend as a participant. I observed how the event was structured, how sessions were managed, how engagement was maintained, and how the audience responded.

Community building requires effort behind the scenes. Watching the execution closely gave me insights that go beyond technical knowledge. It showed the importance of coordination, planning, and genuine intent in building impactful events.

DevFest was not only a learning opportunity in terms of technology. It was also a learning experience in terms of leadership and community dynamics.

What I Took Back With Me

By the end of the day, I realized that the biggest takeaway was not a specific tool or framework. It was mindset.

DevFest Prayagraj 2025 strengthened my belief that growth in technology is continuous. It reinforced the importance of staying curious, engaging with communities, and being proactive in learning.

I left with new ideas to explore, new people to stay connected with, and a stronger motivation to build. Events like these remind you that progress is not accidental. It comes from showing up, participating, and consistently pushing yourself beyond comfort zones.

DevFest was not just another event on the calendar for me. It was a reminder of why I chose to be part of the tech ecosystem in the first place.

And as I continue working on cybersecurity, systems, and community initiatives, I carry forward the energy and inspiration from that day.

Because sometimes, a single well spent day can quietly shift your entire direction.
