In the previous article, I added a custom tab using a Lightning Web Component (LWC) to the Preview and Test screen in Marketing Cloud Next Growth & Advanced Editions and created a mechanism to automatically check email content.
Specifically, I implemented a Content Check tab that can check the following items.
- Email subject length
- Preheader missing check and length
- Whether a Preference Center link is included
I think it would be a good idea to try that first. This time, however, we will further expand that mechanism by creating an AI Review tab that allows AI to automatically review email content.

We will implement a mechanism in which an LWC calls Salesforce AI capabilities so that AI can automatically check and evaluate email content.
In this article, we will create it in the following order.
- Part 1: Prepare Prompt Builder and Create the Prompt
- Part 2: Create an Apex Class and Unit Tests
- Part 3: Create the AI Review Lightning Web Component (LWC)
- Part 4: Register a Custom Tab on the Preview and Test Screen
- Part 5: Verify the Behavior in Marketing Cloud Next
When completed, you will be able to run an AI review with a single click from the Marketing Cloud Next email preview screen.

Now, let’s go through the steps.
Part 1: Create a Prompt Builder Template
Prerequisite: Assign the Prompt Template Manager permission set to the user who creates and manages templates in Prompt Builder.
1. Open Prompt Builder from Setup and create a new template.

6. Call to Action
Determine whether the primary call to action is clear, specific, and easy to identify.
Check whether the recipient can understand:
- What action to take
- Why the action is useful
- Where the action leads
Generic wording such as "Click Here" should normally receive WARNING unless the surrounding context clearly explains the action.
If the email requires an action but does not contain a clear call to action, return ERROR.
If the email is informational and does not require an action, do not return ERROR only because a call to action is absent.
7. Spam-Risk Wording
Identify wording that may appear excessively promotional, aggressive, misleading, or manipulative.
Check for:
- Excessive capitalization
- Repeated exclamation marks
- Aggressive urgency
- Manipulative pressure
- Unrealistic promises
- Repeated promotional wording
- Suspicious or unclear link descriptions
Do not claim that the email will definitely be classified as spam.
8. Misleading or Exaggerated Claims
Identify unsupported, absolute, misleading, or exaggerated claims.
Examples include:
- Guaranteed outcomes
- Unrealistic product claims
- False or unclear scarcity
- Unsupported superlatives
- Claims that everyone uses or loves a product
Evaluate only the information provided in the email.
9. Grammar and Wording
Identify:
- Grammatical errors
- Spelling mistakes
- Typographical errors
- Unnatural expressions
- Ambiguous wording
- Inconsistent terminology
- Inconsistent capitalization
Treat Marketing Cloud Next personalization expressions and template syntax as valid template elements.
Do not report personalization expressions or template syntax as grammar or spelling errors.
10. Accessibility of Written Content
Review the written content for potential accessibility concerns.
Check for:
- Link text that does not explain its purpose
- Instructions that depend only on visual position
- Important meaning communicated only through symbols or emoji
- Excessive emoji
- Unclear headings
- Difficult abbreviations
- Instructions that depend only on color
Do not claim that HTML accessibility, screen-reader behavior, color contrast, semantic markup, or image alternative text has been technically verified.
11. Preference Management
Check whether the email appears to include a visible way for recipients to manage their email preferences or unsubscribe.
Look for wording that clearly refers to:
- Manage Preferences
- Preference Center
- Subscription Center
- Unsubscribe
- Opt Out
- Equivalent preference-management wording
If no preference-management or unsubscribe indication is found, return ERROR.
Do not claim that the link technically works.
12. Overall Consistency
Determine whether the subject, preheader, body, offer, tone, and call to action communicate a consistent message.
Identify contradictions such as:
- Different discount amounts
- Different event dates
- Different expiration dates
- Different product names
- A subject and body that discuss different topics
- A call to action that does not match the email purpose
13. Compliance Review Indicators
Identify content that may require additional review by a legal, compliance, privacy, or brand team.
Examples include:
- Sweepstakes or prize claims
- Financial claims
- Medical or health claims
- Guaranteed outcomes
- Unclear promotional conditions
- Missing offer qualifications
- Unclear expiration dates
- Unclear pricing conditions
- Requests for sensitive information
Do not provide legal advice.
Do not state that the email complies or does not comply with a specific law or regulation.
When a potential issue is found, explain that human review may be required.
SCORING RULES
Start with a score of 100.
Deduct points according to the following guidance:
- Critical issue: deduct 15 to 25 points
- Significant issue: deduct 8 to 14 points
- Minor issue: deduct 1 to 7 points
The final score must be an integer from 0 through 100.
A missing preheader alone must not reduce the score below 80.
OVERALL STATUS RULES
Return "PASS" only when all of the following conditions are met:

1. Log in to Salesforce, open Setup from the gear icon in the upper-right corner, and select Agentforce Vibes.
2. When you launch it for the first time, the Agentforce Vibes IDE Terms of Use are displayed. Click Accept to start using Agentforce Vibes IDE. These Terms of Use apply not only to Agentforce Vibes IDE, but also to Salesforce DX tools such as DevOps Center and DX Inspector.
3. Wait a few minutes until it finishes loading.
4. This time, we will implement it without using Agentforce assistance because many environments cannot enable the Agentforce feature shown in the red box below. If you can enable it, feel free to use it during development.
Clicking Enable Agentforce enables the AI development assistant in Agentforce Vibes. This allows you to use AI-powered code generation and review features.
5. A development screen that is very similar to Visual Studio Code opens in your browser.
Tips: When launching it for the first time, you may see an error such as “Apex Language Server Extension couldn’t create connection to server” in the lower-right corner of the screen. If this happens, press Ctrl + Shift + P and run Developer: Reload Window, which may resolve the issue.

7. Now right-click the lwc directory and deploy it to your org.
8. Finally, users who will use this LWC must have access to the following Apex class. Create a permission set.
- Example Permission Set Name: Marketing Email AI Review User

9. In the permission set, select Apex Class Access.
10. Select MarketingEmailAiReviewController and save.
11. Assign the permission set to the currently logged-in user or any other users who will use this feature. It must be assigned to all users who will preview emails.

Now we are finally ready to integrate it into Marketing Cloud Next.
Part 4: Register the Tab on the Preview Screen
At this point, you have created the following components.
- Prompt Template
- Apex Class
- Lightning Web Component
Finally, register this Lightning Web Component with Marketing Cloud Next so that it can be used from the Preview and Test screen.
When completed, the tab layout will look like the following.
Preview | Test | Content Check | AI Review
When you open the AI Review tab, AI reviews the email that is currently being previewed and displays the quality check results.
1. Simply deploying the LWC does not make it appear on the Marketing Cloud Next preview screen. Next, we need to check the ID of the deployed contentCheckTab, so open the Developer Console from the Salesforce Setup screen.
2. In the Developer Console, select Query Editor and check Use Tooling API.
The LightningComponentBundle that we want to retrieve is not a standard data object like Contact or Case. Instead, it contains the definition information for the deployed LWC. Therefore, you must enable Use Tooling API.
3. Run the following query.

Make a note of the 18-character Id displayed in the results.
4. UiPreviewMessageTabDef is metadata used to register which LWC should be displayed with which tab name in the Marketing Cloud Next Preview and Test modal.
In the Query Editor of the Developer Console, run the following query.

5. Next, click Insert Row to add a new row.
Set each field to the following values.
- Id: Cannot be entered because it is generated automatically
- MasterLabel: AI Review
- DeveloperName: AIReview
- TabName: AI Review
- IsActive: true
- SupportedChannel: Email
- LightningComponentDefId: The ID of contentCheckTab that you copied earlier
After entering the values, click Save Rows.
When IsActive is set to true, the tab is displayed on the Marketing Cloud Next preview screen.
Part 5: Verify the Behavior in Marketing Cloud Next
1. In Marketing Cloud Next, navigate to your email content and open Preview and Test.
2. The AI Review tab that you created is displayed.
3. Open the tab and click the Run AI Review button.
4. The AI review is displayed. The implementation is now complete.
For example, Grammar & Wording is evaluated as WARNING.
The AI explains that the phrase “Why You Don’t Want to Miss This” is somewhat conversational and may not be suitable for a professional tone. It also points out that the heading “[Event Name] Is Coming Soon” and the email subject “See You in One Week!” use slightly different time expressions, making the messaging less consistent. In addition, it identifies that the instruction “Add to Calendar” appears more than once in the email, resulting in redundant wording.
Next, Spam-Risk Wording is also evaluated as WARNING.
In the email body, multiple emojis such as 🔥 and 🚀 are used in place of bullet points. The AI determines that while each emoji is acceptable individually, using many emojis in emphasized sections may affect some spam filters. It also suggests reviewing promotional phrases such as “You Won’t Want to Miss This”, as their suitability may depend on your sending domain’s reputation and email delivery policies.
On the other hand, Call to Action is evaluated as ERROR.
The AI detects that the href attribute of the “Add to Calendar” button is empty, meaning that no destination URL has been configured. It also identifies that the placeholder “[Calendar Invitation/Webinar Registration Link]” still remains in the email body and should be replaced with the actual URL before sending.
As you can see, the AI does much more than simply checking grammar. It automatically detects subtle issues that can easily be overlooked during manual reviews, such as inconsistencies in the content, spam risks, missing links, and forgotten placeholders. This can be particularly useful when multiple people collaborate on creating emails or when performing a final quality review before sending, helping improve quality while reducing review effort.

This time, I created a custom AI Review tab that allows AI to automatically review email content from the Preview and Test screen in Marketing Cloud Next.
In the previous Content Check tab, we checked items such as text length and the presence of links. This time, by using AI, we can automatically perform more advanced reviews, including consistency between the subject and the email body, readability, CTAs, spam risks, and compliance.
By simply modifying the prompt, you can add your own organization’s review criteria, making this approach applicable to a wide variety of use cases.
