Reason and Limitations Are Not Real Factor; Breakthrough It!
Were anyone ever born ‘talented’ and ‘resourced’ enough to be the best at what they’re at? I doubtfully argue so. In the moment of social media abruptly feeding us with dopamines, we often feel this rollercoaster rush. Of being able and not to at the same time. I can vouch for this because the first is actually truth and the second is a natural response to it. We need to measure everything that we consume; rather than just blindly consuming them. And I’m not talking about calories but rather contents.
For example, to A, the motiavational content he just watched motivated him that he can build that 10K MMR software. But the very moment he touches another app that he feels comfort in, he forgot about it then proceed to be guilty upon not taking action. True to many that their capabilities are still showing brinks of what it could become. Making us believe in what true capabilities we have is important.
HOWEVER.
Having a company, a reminder that we are yet and not going to turn into 100% of it in one night or a month. Having a realistic goal that is breakdown into steps and constantly getting reminded of is usually where we climb that mindset. Why so?
Because our attention is so easily distracted by the (planned) algorithm f the contents and apps we consume. It is a common goal to make you stick to that app longest as possible. Making whatever you watch there feels important. But we know that by heart, it is nothing if compared to making progress towards something we actually want. This is the paradox of motivation in the current age.
That comes to my point where we often feel ‘limited’. That ‘oh but I’m busy’ , ‘I have other necessities’ , ‘I’m not knowledgeable yet’ , nor ‘It takes a investment to do such and I don’t have it’.
All of these are common defense we said. And it’s understandable that we thought of this first. By fact, it does feel more comfortable to reason dan to admit and fix.
But the world doesn’t tolerate time wasted. Trust me, this age we are at, information, hacks and going against what we thought was ‘limiting’ resources are EVERYWHERE.
I’ll give a direct example of this. A often sees a lifestyle and business influencer it looks up to. They uses X laptop, Y subscription and expensive gym routine. Hence, A says that ‘oh I don’t have that yet, I couldn’t be like them’. Extreme misunderstanding.
Because A is so used to looking at optimal version of people (which we call influencers) without considering their day ones. Because A can actually achieve the same, in his own progress, not up to their standard, but way more progress than yesterday. IF A just admits that yes, the conditions are different; but what can I actually try to start and build through?
Another example is my end. I have many old device still used, they work lovely maybe lags a little but I used to thought ‘Oh this device can’t run X app, I can’t do that progress’ but it seems like I gave up too early. Because commonly, the case would be that once I researched a bit more. I get to see that oh there are compatible versions, hacks, walk arounds of it.
Perhaps, every limitations we have is just in a matter of mindset change. Let’s be more curious, fight through what we thought once our limit and see more often the contents of building not from the optimal version, but the zero-to-ones, the garage studio days.
One great tip by experience is to go and join communities that can hold each other accountable. If it means to invest some time or money, trust me it’s worth it. If we’re short on the latter, trust me, reach out to the founder, explain your condition. Try different ways! Be plus ones, there are indeed many ways to reach the same goals.
Yours may look different than mine, or others. Given we don’t life in the same body nor share the same fingerprint.
Again, the limitations are just in your mind. You can do it.
