🗣MOSES IS DEAD; JOSHUAS, ARISE! (CIII)❤️‍🔥

⚓️BIBLE REFERENCE: Joshua 23:1-5 (AMP) [1] A long time after that, when the Lord had given Israel rest from all their enemies on every side, and Joshua had grown old and advanced in years,

[2] that Joshua called all Israel, their elders and their heads and their judges and their officers, and said to them, “I am old and advanced in years.

[3] And you have seen all that the Lord your God has done to all these nations for your sake; for the Lord your God is He who has been fighting for you.

[4] See, I have allotted to you these nations that remain as an inheritance for your tribes, with all the nations which I have cut off, from the Jordan [on the east] to the Great [Mediterranean] Sea toward the setting sun.

[5] The Lord your God will push them away from before you and drive them out of your sight and you will take possession of their land, just as the Lord your God promised you.

MESSAGE One of the greatest sources of decadence in the history of our existence is discontinuity. A leader is elected for a specific period of time, draws up a beautiful agenda, begins executing, but doesn't get to finish before his tenure comes to an end. Instead of the newly elected leader to pick it up from where he stopped, he goes ahead to draw up his own plans, neglecting the previous, starting from the beginning again, never finishing during his tenure and this cycle of foolishness continues! Which is more attractive? Laying the foundation of a house or painting the house? The Bible tells us that finishing is better than starting! The Message Version put it this way; "Endings are better than beginnings. Sticking to it is better than standing out" (Ecclesiastes 7:8).

This lesson is very important because this is the assignment we are saddled with in our generation! It is foolishness to begin to pray for the same things our fathers prayed for and got The Lord's Sworn Blessings as answers when we should be executing, anchored on those Promises! The Children of Israel didn't need to get a New Covenant with God in order to possess the lands of their enemies; they simply anchored on The Promises The Lord had given Abraham, Isaac and Jacob! Can you imagine if Isaac took Jacob and Esau to kill them simply because he had heard how The Lord told Abraham to do the same? The lineage of Israel only needed one Isaac to be "almost sacrificed" to qualify for the Sworn Blessings! We act like we don't have Fathers, wanting to be deeper than them, wiser than them, better than them; and that isn't bad, as a matter of fact it is The Lord's Will that we do greater works than they did but, it will continue to be a mirage until we stand on the Covenants The Lord had made with them!

It was Sir Isaac Newton that cracked this code when he wrote to his rival, Robert Hooke in 1675; "If I have seen further [than others], it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants." What depth of knowledge and humility! And yes, he was a Christian. No Sir, no one is self made! It took two people, male and female, to birth every human you see walk the earth! Why then have we foolishly accepted the absurd idea that we can build on our own from scratch? There is Only One Person Who Created something out of nothing and that is God Himself! We have basically been recycling His creations since then! This is why Joshua was bold enough to assure the Israelites that even after he had gone, those Promises The Lord gave to him and those before him, will be more than sufficient to make them drive their enemies out and possess the lands! Instead of digging a well afresh, isn't it wisdom to redig an already existing well only stopped up with dirt?

🎺CALL: Ask Isaac! Isaac was richer than Abraham his father because besides the blessings he accumulated in his lifetime, he also inherited his father’s blessings! Genesis 12:2, 18:18 and 24:34-35, all confirm that Abraham was great. Genesis 26:13 went on to confirm that Isaac became very great. By the time we get to Genesis 30:43, The Holy Spirit describes Jacob as exceedingly great! There is a Covenant already existing with the Fathers, all the children need to do is to latch on to it! There is a particular Scripture that we are familiar with the second part, not the first...

Daniel 11:32; "Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits." You can't know your God outside the Covenant Sir and only those who know their God have the opportunity to be strong, and to do great exploits! Look at this - Proverbs 19:14a; "House and wealth are the inheritance from fathers." Why should a son labour to do what his father had already done instead of just entering into his rest, continuing from where he had stopped?This Wisdom goes beyond mere physical wealth but even the Spiritual! How could Elisha have operated the double portion anointing if there wasn't first a portion from Elijah? The Covenant! Instead of struggling to find God, simply go to the altar of the fathers! Before Isaac got his Rehoboth, he redug the wells his father had dug and gave the wells the same name his father had given them (Genesis 26:18-22). For centuries, The Lord introduced Himself as The God of Abraham, Isaac andd Jacob! Covenant! Before Elijah called down Fire from Heaven in 1 Kings 18:20-40, he rebuilt the already existing altar that had been torn down! Can we cry out to The Lord for Mercy for all the times we had been foolish even as we set ourselves to do greater works than our fathers have done by continuing from where they stopped anchored on The same Covenants The Lord made with them?

🫵🏿BRIDGE: Let us now pay attention to This Scripture and act accordingly; "Thus says the Lord, “Stand by the roads and look; ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is; then walk in it, And you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it!’ “I have set watchmen (prophets) over you, Saying, ‘Listen and pay attention to the [warning] sound of the trumpet!’ But they said, ‘We will not listen.’ “Therefore hear, O [Gentile] nations, And see, O congregation, what [vengeful act] is to be done to them. “Hear, O earth: behold, I am bringing disaster on this people, The fruit of their schemes, Because they have not listened and paid attention to My words, And as for My law, they have rejected it also. “For what purpose does frankincense come to Me from Sheba And the sweet cane from a distant land? Your burnt offerings are not acceptable And your sacrifices are not sweet and pleasing to Me.” Therefore, thus says the Lord, “Behold, I am laying stumbling blocks before this people. The fathers and the sons together Will stumble against them; The neighbor and his friend will perish.” Thus says the Lord, “Behold, a people is coming from the north country, And a great nation shall be stirred up and put into action from the remote parts of the earth. “They seize bow and spear; They are cruel and inhuman and have no mercy. Their voice sounds like the roaring sea; They ride [in formation] on horses, Arrayed as a man for battle Against you, O Daughter of Zion (Jerusalem)!” We have heard the report of it; Our hands become limp and helpless. Anguish has gripped us, Pain like that of a woman in childbirth. Do not go out into the field Nor walk on the road, For the enemy is armed with the sword; Terror is on every side. O daughter of my people [says Jeremiah], Clothe yourself in sackcloth and wallow in ashes; Mourn [aloud] as for an only son, A most bitter cry [of sorrow and regret], For suddenly the destroyer will come upon us [on both prophet and people]. “I [the Lord] have set you as an assayer [O Jeremiah] and as a tester [of the ore] of My people, That you may know and analyze their acts.” They are all the worst [kind] of [stiff-necked, godless] rebels, Going around spreading slander. They are [not gold and silver ore, but] bronze and iron; They are all corrupt. The bellows blow fiercely, The lead is consumed by the fire; In vain they continue refining, But the wicked are not separated and removed. They call them rejected silver [only dross, without value], Because the Lord has rejected them" (Jeremiah 6:16-30).

🔥PRAYER POINT: My Father, I Thank You for sending Your Word to me today. Lord, I am sorry for not embracing the Covenant Pathways of the Fathers. Please Help me to follow through so I can get all the Blessings You have in store for me in Jesus Mighty Name!
