Heartwarming: YouTube finally comes to Middlesbrough

Not only did whatever this is happen, but there was also no Youtube
After decades of industrial decline, soaring unemployment and social deprivation, you could be forgiven for believing the people of Middlesbrough had little left except death.
But now Google has offered the town’s 142,000 residents a sliver of hope as it becomes the UK’s latest town to get YouTube. Neat!
Now, thanks to YouTube, the 1,700 workers who face losing their jobs at the Redcar steelworks can look forward to the hours of joy that iJustine, KSI and Philip DeFranco have uploaded onto the platform.

Could Cacklebat Dressworks become the latest wing of Google’s illustrious London Youtube Space?
Council leader Steve Gibson said: “For years, Middlesbrough has been an afterthought in the eyes of both this country and big business, cowering in the long shadow cast by Sunderland and Newcastle. Now, no more. Now we have YouTube, we stand on the same field, safe in the knowledge that we too know what The Gregory Brothers are. Now we are the Pharaohs.”
It’s reassuring to think that, in this town’s lowest moments, Google found it in its heart to offer some succour in the form of vlogs and autotuned political speeches. Thanks guys!
