It all began with a house, my best friend’s Thus began a journey, I knew would never end

Listen to this one, she said And I obliged, my feet propped up onto the bed

She hit play, and I thought this was such a chore Little did I know, this was the song I’d come to adore

“We’re only getting older, baby And I’ve been thinking about it lately”

Well, guess what, that line hit hard Like my heart being pierced by a glass shard

I had sudden memories of my life before the move Our play dates at Four Banyans, pushing and running, while the adults shared a spirited booze

Right there, I fell in love, not with a person, but with a song Building connections that would last so long

And then she said the words that have forever stuck This is One Direction, and their energy is just too contagious to duck

Eventually, I went back to the country of fake tan, but never really forgot that heavenly harmony of voices Maybe I had found my type of music, and at that thought, my heart still rejoices

Well then, I researched a bit With curiosity, my eyes were lit

I watched all their X-Factor video diaries Basking in the newfound information about One Direction’s glories

What makes you beautiful, Fool’s Gold, Fireproof, If I could fly, Strong, with so many more to explore I dived into the depths of Larry Stylinson lore

A Directioner, the new word in my dictionary My best friend as my trusty One Direction missionary

The song ‘18’ really tugged at my heartstrings Reminding me of all our Little Things

And now my life is filled with their karaoke songs, memes and Pinterest boards But if you dare insult the boys I’ve grown so accustomed to, I won’t hesitate to pull out the swords

My iPad wallpaper has changed to their lyrics I seriously don’t give a damn about the judgmental critics

My love for them only grows Only now, it doesn’t feel like such a chore
