Another Weekend

Another weekend, we hosted my colleague and her mom was dinner on Friday, btw i’m into making a lot of salads these days which is great for health + feel satisfied eating them and for the mind its like dopamine I did this good deed kinda thing, these are not green ones by that I mean don’t contain green leaves like spinach/spring mix/lettuce but only veggies and fruits or grains (soaked mung dal/quinoa/black bean).

Saturday was the most un-productive day but I loved it, the older 8 yr old had a birthday party — it was nerf gun battle — with two teams — enough nerfs — goggles for safety and bonefire with s’mores to end it off, common now tell me which child (or full grown adult) is not going to like that, so for the first time the husband said he could take her, again first time! guess why shows it was an interesting theme which he wanted to be a part of, good job these parents! And I stayed home with the little and we did all these puzzles and then once we were back as family — drumroll after I don’t know how many years it was episode after episode of Emily in paris and with no phone around me so it was just me aimlessly watching and dreaming of me in paris and being a Emily like.. I thought a dopple-ganger but no we are not anyway similar in how we look, well even dress I love monotones and she loves all candied colors. She might un-friend me in real life!

Sunday my cousin come over — you know the littles keep asking — my third cousin to be precise and then it was detox from netflix I had enough for another year — and I cooked, made salad again for the dopamine .. and we played bingo because one of the 8yr old got it as a gift, no wonder its old age bingo or older people play it and with the younger 6 yr old calling the numbers put us all to sleep. Post bingo we played wheel of fortune oh lord was so much better just that a 8 yr old as a co-ordinator who did not get the placement of the words right sometime’s added to the fun of guessing! That’s it for weekend, we spoke about MLK on Monday and listened to his speech, in that day and age someone without a speech writer or the internet, writing a speech of that caliber is so inspiring, today speeches are such a spin off all the old ones nothing from the heart.
